Cornwall and the Maldives both take the top spot for the most searched for holiday destinations.

Search data collated by Stuart and Andrew at Not Just Travel has revealed the most searched for holiday destinations by Brits. In the joint top spot are Cornwall and the Maldives. Both ‘Cornwall holidays’ and ‘ Maldives holidays’ have 74,000 monthly searches in the UK, making them the most sought-after holiday destinations in 2022.
In a close third place is Dubai, with the search term ‘Dubai holidays’ bringing in 60,500 monthly searches in the UK. Followed by Greece and Tenerife, both with 49,500 monthly searches. In terms of UK holiday destinations, Cornwall is by far the most popular destination, with Isle of Wight in second place, followed by Devon.

‘Cornwall holidays’ is over three times as searched for as notoriously popular destinations, such as ‘Ibiza holidays’ (22,200), ‘Cyprus holidays’ (22,200), and ‘Santorini holidays’ (22,200). While the Maldives has cemented itself as the most desirable foreign holiday destination with Brits.

Cappuccino Cupcakes

Ingredients
For The Cakes:
2 tsp instant coffee 175g unsalted butter 175g caster sugar 3 eggs, beaten 175g self raising flour 2 tbsp semi-skimmed milk
For The Topping:
2 tsp instant coffee 100g unsalted butter 150g icing sugar 1 tbsp cocoa powder
Method
Preheat the oven to 180°C/fan 160°C/Gas 4 and line a 12-hole cupcake tin with paper cases Mix the coffee with 1 tbsp boiling water and then leave to cool Cream the butter and sugar until pale and fluffy Add the coffee and beat again, gradually adding the eggs, along with a little of the flour Add the milk and remaining flour and mix together Spoon into the cases and bake for 10-15 mins, until a knife inserted comes out clean Take out of the tin and cool on a wire rack Meanwhile, mix the coffee for the topping with 1 tsp boiling water, then cool Beat the butter, sugar and coffee together to make the icing Spoon on top of the cakes and dust with the cocoa powder

Fridge-raid egg fried rice
Ingredients Method
Tomato purée 1 garlic clove 2cm ginger, peeled 1/2 tsp dried chilli flakes 4 tsp rapeseed oil 2 spring onions, finely chopped 100g fresh or frozen diced mixed vegetables 40g cooked bacon 1 tbsp tomato ketchup 1 tbsp soy sauce 250g pouch of microwave rice (or leftover rice) 1 egg Coriander leaves, to garnish In a small bowl, blitz together the tomato purée, garlic, ginger and chilli flakes, if using, with a stick blender until you have a coarse paste
Heat 3 tsp of the oil in a large nonstick wok or frying pan over a high heat
Stir-fry the spring onions and vegetables for 2-3 mins, until just starting to colour
Add the bacon and fry for a further minute, then add the spice paste and cook for 1 minute more.
Add the ketchup, soy sauce, remaining oil and rice, and stir-fry for 2 mins or until piping hot
Crack in the egg and leave to cook a little, then stir in vigorously
If you prefer the egg chunkier, allow it to set for a little longer, then stir through
