Serenading people in their homes with specially commissioned new music, the Sky Orchestra is showcase the creative talent of the city. A flotilla of seven hot air balloons will deliver the instrumental dawn chorus from the sky to create an uplifting visual and musical experience in surround sound.

Sky Orchestra - A New Dawn for Bristol is an arts project by renowned international Bristol artist Luke Jerram and Bristol-based BAFTA-winning composer Dan Jones. It features the premiere of a new composition commissioned by Bristol Old Vic.

Now, the incredible line-up of Bristol musical and artistic contributors joining forces for the project has been revealed. Grant Marshall, founder member of Massive Attack, Stew Jackson, current writer and producer for Massive Attack, and Adrian Utley, founder member of Portishead, are all involved in either creating or playing on the soundtrack. Outgoing Bristol City Poet Vanessa Kisuule has written a spoken word contribution which she is recording whilst renowned theatre and TV writer, composer and sound designer Elizabeth Purnell has created the string arrangements. Drew Morgan Bristol talent performing includes Jo Bacon, Jerome Gamble and Joe Harding on the guitar, with Tom Nosek providing the vocals.

planned to offer people hope for the future and playing electric guitars in balloons live during the Sky Orchestra performance.

Planned by Dan and Luke since the beginning of the lockdown, the local ballooning crews are being brought together by lead pilot Peter Dalby. The performance has only just been made possible as social distancing restrictions have been relaxed to allow pilots and crews to work together safely. To avoid public crowds turning up to watch the launch, the dates and times of the performance are a secret. The performance will be announced on the day, just as the balloons take off.

People are encouraged to capture the experience on camera and share their photos and video on social media, using the hashtag #skyorchestra. Funds raised from the sale of the EP of the musical composition, which will be available to stream via all mainstream music streaming services, will be donated to support emerging musicians in the city.

Sky Orchestra was first performed in the city at the Bristol International Balloon Fiesta in 2003, and in 2011 flew across the Capital for the London Olympics 2012. Dan Jones, a BAFTA and three-time Ivor Novello award-winning composer who balances his time creating large scale musical artworks with a prolific career writing music for screen, is co-creating the new score.

He said: "We're excited to be bringing together some of Bristol's most celebrated musicians alongside emerging young talent from across the city; Bristol continues to be a launchpad for musical innovation that spreads right around the world. This is a great opportunity for all of us to thank the city as a continued source of inspiration." Luke Jerram, who is well known for artworks such as Museum of the Moon, Play Me I'm Yours and Park and Slide, explains: "As the city begins to unlock, we wanted a way to deliver an uplifting experience to people in their homes. Something spectacular, yet somehow intimate; to create a sense of renewal, hope and rebirth, to raise the public's spirits and mark a moment in time. "I'd love to see how people experience the Sky Orchestra from around the city so please do share your photos and videos on social media, using the hashtag #skyorchestra."

With seven hot air balloons positioned over a city, this makes it one of the largest surround sound artworks in the world.

Tom Morris from Bristol Old Vic, which commissioned the new musical score said: "All of Bristol is a theatre and the safest performance space in the world is the sky. Bristol Old Vic may be closed, for now, but the ears and eyes and hearts of all Bristolians are not and the need for inspiring work by our most extraordinary artists is greater than ever under the effect of the pandemic. We are thrilled to be able to collaborate with Luke and Dan and a host of Bristolian musicians on this wonderful project, their gift to the city during lockdown. May it bring hope and delight to all who see and hear it."

This line-up consists of tried and proved 190hp 2.0-litre diesel that can do 0-62mph in 7.3 seconds, return 67.3mpg and emit 111g/km CO2. The gearbox in 3 series is a choice of six-speed manual and eight-speed automatic.

Meanwhile, the 5 Series runs with a smaller range of diesel and petrol engines; the most well-known being the 190hp 2.0-litre diesel. Despite having to transport a heavier car- the engine whose power is similar to the 3 series 2-litre diesel engine- it is just as fast if not a bit more economical. This line-up has a plug-in hybrid engine badged 530ie Performance that can return 142mpg and emissions of 46g/CO2. Gearboxes are the same as 3 series.

The 3 Series is agile, compact and is powered with responsive engines. The rear-drive set-up especially makes cornering a delight. WhileArticle Search, the 5 Series rivals on most performance measures the rear-wheel drive is lighter and has a more sophisticated suspension system- powered with equally responsive engines. It is unrivalled in its class.
