DIRTT U Live: Fun and learning in the mountains

Teams of DIRTTbags from across the globe gathered in Calgary and Kananaskis in October for a week of learning and skill building. It was a great opportunity to connect with fellow DIRTTbags who are often in other locations. There was a lot of training and learning to go around. Plus, we had a bit of fun while we were at it!
Friday morning, 285 DIRTT U participants all headed out to Kananaskis. The ‘Nitty Gritty DIRTTbags’ band – made up of some very musically-talented DIRTTbags – woke everyone up with some lively morning music. Geoff Krause kicked off the morning, helping us find our moon shot. Keynote speaker Linda Edgecombe energized the room. She got us motivated to make changes and set our own lives up for our best success.

The afternoon was filled with some great team building. The Amazing Chase had teams scurrying all over Kananaskis village, working together to complete challenges and race for the win. Then, Titanium Chef peaked our competitive spirit on Friday night, in a live edition of the famous television cooking show of a similar name. Dozens of teams competed to cook three courses and win the hearts (and palettes) of the judges.

Participants got to enjoy a selection of activities on Saturday, organized by our Client Relations team. Some crawled through tight caves. Some ate their way through the Banff Springs castle. Others hiked or relaxed at the spa. But everyone enjoyed the beautiful scenery of the Kananaskis mountains.

In true DIRTT fashion we kept the fun going with a dance party. Big kudos to DJ Justin Kim for a stellar performance.
Saturday night was Diner en Blanc. It was DIRTT’s take on a worldwide event where people gather, all dress in white attire, to enjoy a great evening. The concept originated in Paris 30 years ago as a way to celebrate the French art of living. These days, more than 110,000 people participate annually in Diner en Blanc events around the globe.

The team at the Pomeroy Kananaskis Lodge said we were a great group and are looking forward to having us back.
