ive long and prosper. That’s how Mr. Spock greeted others. What is now a ubiquitous phrase entered pop culture as a greeting from the alien Vulcan civilization in the original Star Trek series from the 1960s. It was accompanied by a Vulcan salute, “made by raising the hand with the palm facing out, extending the thumb, LifeHopeandTruth.com
and parting the fingers between the middle and ring finger” (Live Long and Prosper Day website).
