To say we’ve come far with the community of Manggis, East Bali, is an understatement. It all started out with the fixing of an irrigation issue that threatened the livelihoods of the community here during the onslaught of the Covid-19 pandemic in 2019.

Today, our community development work with Manggis has transformed into a heartfelt collaboration with the local villagers and Cross Hotels & Resorts. Guests can expect more than accommodation set over breathtaking views, but a connection with the local Balinese culture and way of life. Moreover, they will be part of an overarching sustainable development story.

The retreat consists of 22 pavilion accommodations, a 20-metre infinity pool with a stunning view over lush farmlands and the sea, an open-air restaurant, spa facility and a future community learning centre. Together with the local villagers, we provide a carefully designed selection of immersive and sustainable activities.
