Their cuisine too is very nostalgic of grandmothers’ kitchen! The food is Mess style and to make things easier, there is a display of some of the delicious south Indian starters at tableside. From Mutton Kola Urandais, Karuvepillai Lollipos , Kozhi Peratal, Pichi Potta Naatukozhi to Kudal Kulambus, Brain Fry, Eraal Thokku, Nandu Pepper Masalas and Kadai 65, the sheer variety is astounding. The famous Mutton Chukka is so lusciously delicate that it emanates wafts of spiced mutton aroma that induces a feel-good, heady effect! The pieces are soft and filled with flavoursome juices that are released with every bite & munch!! No wonder it’s much in demand!! The Chinthammani Chicken is known for its extreme heat as red chillies are used in generous amounts.

The preparation here is so where the actual flavours of the dish can be relished on account of its subdued level of spice factors. The white meat of the chicken simply soaks up these traditional masalas into its soul to lend delicacy in all its glory! The perfectly steamed Idiyappams, so thin and stringy that they resemble sewing threads on embroidery, are an apt accompaniment for this chicken dish.

Rest assured, the search for the fluffiest Bun & Coin Parottas ends here. Period. The flaky crusts seem to emit a heavenly glow that beckons a whiff of the ghee smeared flatbread! The layers keep peeling off effortlessly and pairs well with the exquisitely succulent Mutton Paya, with its meat so tender that it almost hangs off the edge waiting to be rescued.

The Mutton Nalli Gravy is a sure shot must try for those who like to get ‘hands on’ with their food! The rich marrow trapped inside is already enriched with the masalas and the slow cooking process only enhances the flavour profile when it is sucked out with ease!! A word of advice - Don’t let the inhibitions get in the way when savouring something special like this. Absolute satisfaction!
