Abbott Museum in De Soto

The local De Soto museum is currently closed. It is located at the corner of 83rd Street and Peoria. One of De Soto’s pioneer landowners, Major James B. Abbott was the original owner and builder of Abbott Hall. (see feature in Discovering De Soto Heritage Issue Fall 2016 www.issuu.com/discoveringdesoto)

Monticello Community HIstorical Society Museum

The museum will be closed until at least March 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The museum is located in Western Lenexa, 23860 West 83rd Street and is home of an authentic stagecoach and other pioneer treasures. Visit their website at https:// monticelloks.org and view their gallery.
