Oct. 1st: “ISH” by Georgie Jones. 7-30pm.

A unique performance of her one-woman show, filmed in the theatre at Stamford Arts Centre and presented especially for an online audience on National Poetry Day. Georgie Jones, (27) from Bourne, has finally cracked what it means to be a woman. Just kidding. She’s haphazardly stumbling through adulthood trying to figure it out.

Laced with warmth and hilarity, “ISH” is part party, part epic poem. Spoken word, stand up and storytelling are set to a soundtrack of nostalgic ’90s bangers in celebration of the simultaneously grotesque and glorious experience that is womanhood.

Oct 7th at 6pm and 11th at 12 midnight:

“In Loco Parentis” – Vincent Dance Company: Stamford Arts Centre Website. Critically acclaimed performance where three adult and two extraordinary young performers combine movement, strong visual imagery and spoken word to explore the cycles of rupture and repair that drive children into care.

The work exposes the emotional impact that foster care and adoption has on young people’s lives. Suitable for ages 14+. Content Warning: The work contains content and explores themes that some people may find upsetting. If you are affected by the themes, need support or know someone who may need support, the Arts Centre website has information on helplines that may be of use.
