‘Tis the season for lots of fanfare to celebrate our nation’s 245th birthday. Numerous fireworks displays and other events will be happening around the area. The City of Pell City and its Parks and Recreation Department will again present the large fireworks show that has been an annual spectacular for 20-plus years.

PELL CITY - July 4 at 9.pm. Pell City Civic Center and Sports Complex and Lakeside Park

The display, under the direction of Pyro Shows Inc., will last 20-25 minutes. Edge said spectators can watch the show either on land or boat.

GADSDEN

Some of the celebrations in Gadsden are associated with the First Friday event in Downtown Gadsden. First Friday activities and classic car show are 6-9 p.m. July 2 on Broad Street between First and Seventh streets. Immediately following First Friday is a summer concert 9-11 p.m. at Gadsden’s Mort Glosser Amphitheater. The concert - “All My Rowdy Friends” - is free to the community. Then, at dark on July 4, Gadsden-Etowah Patriots Association presents a fireworks show over the Coosa River. The prime viewing locations, according to The Chamber, Gadsden-Etowah County, are the parking lots at Convention Hall, the amphitheater and Coosa Landing. 42
