Wrightwood Classic Car Show
Every year the small mountain town of Wrightwood transforms into a hub of nostalgia during its highly anticipated Classic Car Show Known for its picturesque scenery, Wrightwood offers a stunning backdrop of pine-covered hills and crisp mountain air, providing a perfect setting for automotive enthusiasts to gather and celebrate the golden age of motoring
The event, which draws car lovers from across Southern California and beyond, is more than just a display of polished chrome and vibrant paint jobs It’s a community celebration that captures the spirit of a bygone era, where every vehicle on display tells a unique story of American ingenuity and the evolution of automotive design.
The show features over 200 classic vehicles, from the sleek, art deco lines of the 1930s roadsters to the bold, muscle-bound powerhouses of the 1960s and 70s. Strolling through the rows of pristinely maintained cars, attendees are treated to a visual history lesson in American car culture.
One of the show’s highlights is the diversity of vehicles on display Vintage Fords, Chevrolets, and Dodges sit alongside
rarer gems like Studebakers and Packards Each care is lovingly restored and maintained by its owner, with many vehicles being family heirlooms passed down through generations Attendees can expect to see iconic models such as the Ford Mustang, Chevrolet Bel Air, and Pontiac GTO, each representing the pinnacle of automotive design from its respective era
The Wrightwood Classic Car Show is as much about community as it is about cars The event brings together people of all ages, from seasoned car buffs who can recall every detail of a 1957 Chevy, to young enthusiasts who are just beginning to appreciate the craftsmanship of classic cars. The show has a festive atmosphere, with live music by The Modd Rods and food vendors providing delicious treats. Admission is free.

The Allure of Night Fishing
Hesperia Lake draws anglers from near and far While the lake is a popular destination for fishing during the day, those in the know understand that its true magic comes alive after sunset Night fishing at Hesperia Lake offers a unique experience that combines the thrill of the catch with the peacefulness of the night, creating an unforgettable adventure under the stars
As the sun dips below the horizon and the desert cools, Hesperia Lake transforms. The stillness of the night is awakened by the gentle lapping of water against the shore and the occasional rustle of the surrounding squirrels. It’s in this tranquil setting that anglers gather, their lines cast into the dark water, waiting for the subtle tug that signals a bite.
For many, the allure of night fishing lies in the challenge. The fish behave differently after dark, and anglers must rely on their senses and intuition to succeed. Catfish, in particular, are more active at night, making them primary target for night fishers at Hesperia Lake These bottom-dwelling giants are known for their strong, stubborn fight, providing a thrill for those lucky enough to hook one
For those new to night fishing at Hesperia Lake, a few tips can go a long way in ensuring a fun night Choosing the right equipment is key Your favorite rod, strong lines, and bait that appeals to nocturnal feeders like catfish are recommended Many anglers swear by using chicken liver, night crawlers, or stink bait to attract catfish, whiles others opt for artificial lures that glow in the dark Patience is crucial Night fishing requires a slower pace and a willingness to wait for the right moment But when that moment comes, and you feel the pull on your line, the reward is worth the wait.
Whether you ’ re a seasoned angler or just looking for a fun night out with family and friends, Hesperia Lake’s night fishing experience is sure to leave you hooked.
So pack your gear, head the the lake, and cast your line into the darkness. Under the beautiful desert sky with the promise of a catch waiting just beneath the surface, you’ll discover why night fishing at Hesperia Lake will become a tradition
