Opportunities

Would you like to host a Postgraduate student from the MSc Bioinformatics and Computational Biology Programme for their 4-month Computer-Based Research Project in Summer 2024?

No supervisory bioinformatics expertise required. Most of the students have life science background and should all be trained and self-sufficient enough to learn and apply standard bioinformatics methods. Any combination of Life Science and Data Analysis is welcome. This is an excellent opportunity to test candidate PhD students / R A’ s and to generate preliminary data for grant applications.

Deadline for Descriptive Abstract to M.Claesson@ucc.ie indicating whether physical lab attendance during the summer is required: 1st March

Project allocation will take place later that month and will be based on the students’ preferences and Semester 1 marks. The current class is the largest so far, thus the chance of getting a student is high.

Start Date: Late May/early June

Minor Thesis Submission Deadline: 1st October

Should you have questions on suitable topics and enquiries
