Horizon Europe: European Research Council (ERC)

Consolidator launched. Supports excellent researchers with 7-12 years research experience post-PhD who have a breakthrough idea with the potential to create a paradigm shift or new perspective in their academic field. Horizon Europe: MSCA

Doctoral Networks now open. Funding to implement doctoral programmes, by partnerships of universities, research institutions and research infrastructures, businesses including SMEs, and other socio-economic actors from different countries across Europe and beyond. Proposals for doctoral networks can reflect existing or planned research partnerships among the participating organisations. MSCA DNs may be Standard, Industrial or Joint Doctorates. UCC deadline: 03/09/2024. EI Coordinator Support Grant deadline: 04/09/2024. Call deadline: 27/11/2024.

SDG Challenge. The SFI SDG Challenge is open in partnership with Irish Aid for applications that aim to offer solutions to the UN SDG 2: Zero Hunger and will support transdisciplinary and international teams to develop transformative, sustainable solutions to development challenges under SDG2. US-Ireland Research and Development Partnership Programme

Run jointly by funding agencies across three jurisdictions: United States of America, Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland. The Programme aims to increase the level of collaborative R&D among researchers and industry professionals across the three jurisdictions. It covers the full remit of the National Institutes of Health (NIH). Deadline: Rolling call with intention to submit 10 weeks in advance of the full proposal deadline at NIH.

Mental Health Awards - Applying Neuroscience to Understand Symptoms in Anxiety, Depression and Psychosis now open. This award will fund innovative projects that combine computational and experimental neuroscience approaches to improve understanding of symptoms of anxiety, depression and psychosis. Epigeum Research Integrity Online Training

Postgraduate students and early-career researchers: it is recommended that they undertake the 8 core modules.

Experienced researchers: it is recommended to take at least the first two core modules and specialist modules that are relevant to their research area.

It is recommended that Research Integrity training should be undertaken/retaken at least once every three years.

Research Skills Training Programme Research Resources and Supports

The 2024 UCC Research Skills Training Programme is targeted at researchers across all disciplines and at all career levels. These workshops cover a variety of topics relating to the identification, capture and management of research funding, and also encompass sessions focused on research-relevant policies and the dissemination/exploitation of research.
