INTRODUCTION

The architectural space directly effects the wellbeing and wellness of human being, and workspace is almost used 50-60% time in a day on an average. This would also directly and indirectly effect on lot of factors of a person’s life. This project of redesigning would be carried on a mixture of the analysis of evolution of workspaces and culture with the different plugins guiding this, the analysis defines the economical, physical, psychological requirement which would then lead to the justification of productivity and human comfort. the workspace specifically would be tackling the IT type of office building design with rental office and public spaces. The culture now has drastically shifted to the work from culture, so the design not only will be dealing with the quantifiable aspects but also the culture and aspects of work flexibility, interaction etc. Hence resulting into the characteristics, spatial arrangements and plugins making it a design for better human comfort.

Employee’s wellbeing

Every person spends a major part of their lives in an office space making it their most used space. This space usually defines all the factors, the direct and indirect ones in shaping a person’s lifestyle. Hence designing workspace must consider all aspects like the physical, mental, economical and innovative factors.

SITE

ANALYSIS

SITE

The site chosen for the project is situated in Surat, Gujarat. The project being an IT office space fits in the land use map and justifies the need of such a project in the area, helping in making the area grow.

SATALITE MAP 2020,

SITE DETAILS: Buildable site: 5577.62 m2 Open site: 4106.99 m2 Main access road: 18m Total site area: 2.3 acers

SHADOW ANALYSIS

SHADOW AT 07:00 AM

SHADOW AT 12:30 PM

The site not being surrounded by much of the buildings makes it an open site, it receives maximum of sunlight between12:00pm to 6:00pm. Most of buildings in the immediate context are in range of 12 to 15 floors high. These are usually the residential buildings whereas the commercial buildings lie between 6 to 7floors high. VEHICULAR DENSITY MAPPING

ACTIVITY MAPPING

INTERPRETATION: The access roads to the site on an average are always moderately vehicular dense, the access from the public zone is comparatively less denser. The immediate junction is also with moderate density and other remaining junctions become more denser. Hence ease of commute can be seen for the site The site and context being majorly residential zone, activities hence include the daily chores. all the junctions are always densely occupied because of all the informal hawkers and commercial complex being near the same. Next to the site there are majorly vehicular activites wheras on the immediate boundaries there are other recreational activites happening.

Low density Moderate density High density

Commute Recreational activity(walking/ cycling/ socializing Shopping(selling and buying, informal hawkes)

Construction Solid line - high density Dashed line - low density
