Matt Cooney, Chief Executive explained “The new name for amica24 reflects how technology is helping us to move from an emergency alarm monitoring operation to a service which provides tailor made solutions to keep customers independent and safe at home. We are still there, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year when emergencies occur but now with the use of sensors and equipment, we can support customers and their families to manage conditions such as dementia, epilepsy and recovery from strokes.” For more information about Technology Enabled Care, please visit www.

NEW SPIRITUAL CARE LEAD AT ST MICHAEL’S DESCRIBES “WELCOMING AND UPLIFTING” HOSPICE
The new Spiritual Care Lead at St Michael’s Hospice says he couldn’t have wished to join a more caring environment. Peter Spence has been in post at the Bartestree-based Hospice since the end of February and says he has been made to feel very welcome. Peter joins from the Worcestershire Royal Hospital where he was a Chaplain during the pandemic. He replaces Jill Groves at St Michael’s, who retired in December. It’s a role which has become even more vital in light of the Covid pandemic, but Peter says it’s important that people realise the Hospice provides far more than just end-of-life care.
