Pawnee Community Chamber of Commerce PICK PAWNEE!!!

HO HO HO!!! MERRY CHRISTMAS!!

Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus made a VERY special appearance in Pawnee via the big red fire truck driven by Santa’s helpers from J&J Custom Fire that was absolutely covered in beautiful bright lights November 27. Our annual Festival of Lights parade was the biggest and best in years!! The Akdar Shrine crazy cars are always wonderful entertainment, our Pawnee City police and the Pawnee County Sheriff’s department led the parade with sirens blaring and lights flashing! Our new Mayor Alice Cottle and family walked the parade route handing out candy to the crowd with beautiful floats, Princesses, cowboys and cowgirls on horseback following behind. Pawnee Tribal Development corporation won first place with their Mr. Grinch float, Spears Furniture 2nd place Candy Land float and Pawnee Bill Rodeo Committee won 3rd place with their tropical Christmas float. Retail storefront decorating contest was won by Spears Furniture, L.O.G. Fashions and Bear Claw Bakery. Santa and Mrs. Claus had lots of photos taken with all the little kiddos in front of the Buffalo Theatre while Mayor Alice and family handed out sacks of candy and apples to the children provided by area businesses, churches and the Pawnee Chamber of Commerce. Earlier that afternoon, everyone was treated to a movie, “The Grinch”, at the Buffalo Theatre courtesy of the Pawnee Chamber of Commerce free to all the children. Our community is one big family, warm, welcoming and appreciative of all our blessings to live in such a wonderful place.

Pictures with Santa and Mrs. Claus in Pawnee Bill’s decorated historic mansion. Christmas carols, kid’s crafts, cookies and hot chocolate, surrey rides, shopping and the unveiling of our newly renovated museum!

Pawnee Community Chamber of Commerce donated 2 hams for the celebration and those winners were Peggy Coleman and Jenna Glen.
