WOW!! What a fantastic month of March in Pawnee!! A long time motto of Mayor Briggs was “There is Always Something Going On In Pawnee”. It could not be more true than this month. We just finished a weekend of enjoying the Mid South Gravel race that came through Pawnee. 2300+ bicyclers from all over the country participated in a cold, windy, even muddy in places 100 mile race. Endurance, strength, perseverance, all words to describe these hardy men and women. March 26th is the opening weekend of the Smithsonian Crossroads exhibit; Museum on Main Street, Change in Rural America. Pawnee Bill Ranch and the Pawnee Chamber of Commerce are hosting this event in the big red barn on the ranch at Blue Hawk Peak just on the outskirts of Pawnee. 12 noon on the 26th is an old fashioned parade downtown followed by the ribbon cutting opening ceremony at the big red barn. Each week thereafter, events will take place at the Pawnee Bill Ranch and at various venues downtown Pawnee. Wild West reenactments at the Historic Buffalo Theatre, historic movies, book signings are just a few of the planned events. The exhibit starts March 26 and runs until May 7, 2022.
