PICK PAWNEE!!! PICK PAWNEE!!! Oh my Goodness what fun we have had in Pawnee just these first few days of May. The 12th Annual Oklahoma 100 Mile Yard Sale, organized by Amy Hedges and crew, was a resounding success this past weekend. Over 300 garage sales and 25 towns came together to offer every sort of items for sale you could possible imagine. I know Amy is putting together a contest to show the most unusual item anyone found and the most creative sign so stay tuned for the results. At the same time, the Oklahoma Steam Threshers & Gas engine show was on May 6,7 & 8 at the steam engine grounds in Pawnee. Absolutely wonderful old steam driven tractors, thrashing machines, antique farm tractors, all on display and working!! Vendors selling steam roasted peanuts, cedar shingles, home-made ice cream. The Pawnee Fire Department’s hamburgers hot dogs & cheese burgers were the best!! This weekend was also the last days for the Smithsonian “Crossroads Museum on Main Street” Change in Rural America exhibit at the Pawnee Bill Ranch. The exhibit had over a thousand visitors over the last six weeks it has been at the big barn on the ranch. May 21, 2022 will be the PARC May Market at Pawnee Lake. Live entertainment, food trucks, fishing, golf, lots of different vendors, great time to bring the family to Pawnee!! “THERE IS ALWAYS SOMETHING GOING ON IN PAWNEE”
