Greetings Citizens of Stroud,

The Chamber of Commerce banquet is behind us and was a huge success. I hope you were able to attend and enjoy it. Congratulations to Citizen of the Year, Julie Bivin. Julie is one of the most active and serving ladies in Stroud.

Congratulations to our Lifetime Achievement winner, Dr. Tim Moore who has taken care of our vision needs and played an active and supportive role in our School and town. Congratulations to long-time school supporters Leon and Vivian Henshaw who were awarded the Mickey Gaines Memorial Mentoring Award. Business of the Year was awarded Avem Health Care for their continued care and support of the Citizens of Stroud.

Spring Break is March 18-22. I hope students and teachers will be able to enjoy this time off. The rest of the school year always seemed to fly by after break. The first day of Spring is March 19 and if you like gardening you might want to check long-term weather. Seems as if there is always frost around Easter which is March 31st.

Stroud’s Spring Clean-up is scheduled for March 25-29. Please take advantage of this twice-a-year opportunity for us to help you. It would be advantageous to get those items to the curb as soon as you can. We will only make one trip through town, and we would hate to miss anyone.

I would like to use this opportunity to say thank you to the people of Stroud. Everyone still speaks and the love and compassion you show for each other is an example for other towns to follow. I am always proud to call Stroud Home!
