Happy New Year District 47 Toastmasters,

There is something exciting about the start of a new year. It certainly could be the creativity and possibilities that is teeming in the atmosphere or the hope of a better tomorrow. This moment is extra special for me as I step into the final six months of this Toastmaster fiscal year with you. I am beaming with high hopes and the expectation of success that includes transformation for us all.

If we have learned anything over the last two years is that this life bears incredible sorrow and yet breathless joy. It is ever-changing and yet we can work together as a community to accomplish remarkable things. Just look at what we have done together over the last six months. As we look to the final six months, we can look to author James Clear in his book Atomic Habits for guidance. He gives us a powerful key to ensuring success in Toastmasters and in life. He is credited with saying “you do not rise to the level of your goals. You fall to the level of your systems. ” Fellow Toastmasters, the key to James Clear quote lies in the answer to the question “do our systems support success?” Can we - District 47 - achieve the goals before us? Yes!!!

We have in place a number of exciting incentives and initiatives for you. We have in place a road map or a system to take us to the destination. However, we need you to commit fully to your vision. If you deliver your personal vision of being a better communicator and leader, District 47 is assured success.

Your District 47 leadership team is even more clear today on the 2021-2022 vision. For all our members and clubs to REIMAGINE | RECOGNIZE | REDISCOVER their why so that we can ignite our commitment to communication and leadership development in ourselves and others. Let us keep moving forward together!
