From The Desk of The Public Relations Manager

Greetings my fellow toastmasters and dynamic members of District 47. I bring you greetings on behalf of the Public Relations Team of District 47. I am Rodney D. Bain, your District 47’s Public Relations Manager for the 2021 –2022 term.

I had the opportunity to serve the District with some remarkable leaders this toastmaster’s year. It has been a growing journey as we sought to reimagine, rediscover and recognize our place in this wonderful organization.

At the beginning of my term, I received a charge from the Region Advisor to share the correct story. I thank you for allowing me to tell your story this year. We worked together to rediscover the story of Toastmasters. We did this by showcasing you, our members, and telling the success stories. Telling the stories of overcoming doubt and fear and hitting your goals will not only inspire current members. But members who may have lost interest. Or new and potential members, seeking that spark to ignite their passion.

In my capacity, it was my job to keep you informed. District 47’s calendar of events, published on our website on July 1, 2021, helped in this regard. My team did our best to keep you aware of the events through emails, social media posts, and updating our website. We thank all of you who took the time to open an email, liked a post, forwarded a flyer, and in any way, large or small, shared the story of our District.

My team directly supported the area and division directors in creating brand-appropriate materials for contests and providing brand training and guidelines. We were excited to learn that you enjoyed the items. It truly means a lot.

Although my time in this capacity has concluded, there is still more of the story to be told. This past year we rediscovered our purpose, reimagined our efforts, and recognized our members. I encourage you to keep sharing your story. It is in the sharing that we inform, inspire and instruct. There are many great leaders who have yet to discover their full potential simply because they need Toastmasters.

I would appreciate it if you provide the same level of support, and even more, to the incoming team. Currently, the District has a Facebook page. And a Facebook group along with each division’s Facebook group. We have a LinkedIn page, a YouTube page, and an Instagram page. If you have not already done so, we would appreciate you liking the page, subscribing to our YouTube page and becoming a member of the group, and, most importantly, liking and sharing the content as it comes out.

Remember, my term is completed, but the job is not. Our mission is to build new clubs and support all clubs in achieving excellence. And the best way to do that is to be of service to you, our members. And why is that? Simply put, we see you, and we feel it is time for the world to see your greatness. I saw it and I am inspired! I cannot wait for the world to see what else is in store for you.

I appreciate you!

Yours in Service Rodney D. Bain Public Relations Manager 2021-2022
