Renovation IN ANACOSTIA

The Anacostia Recreation Center – New Construction project will be a new recreation center adjacent to Ketcham Elementary School. The Department of Parks and Recreation (“DPR”) envisions building a new, standalone 10,000 to 12,000 square-foot recreation center that meets the majority of community programmatic and recreational needs by incorporating amenities such as a new indoor gymnasium, fitness center, demonstration kitchen, a technology lounge, classrooms, and changing rooms. The new facility will also include a security system complete with security cameras in both the interior and exterior of the facility. In addition, DPR envisions a recreation center with biophonic design elements to bring nature into the built environment.
