Vegetarian/Vegan: I know maybe some people will say there is no different between Vegan or Vegetarian it’s because that the only thing how we say it, so just for your information vegan and vegetarian is different, how can that be different? Ok let’s talk about this. Talk about Vegetarian/Vegan is talk about people lifestyle, Vegetarian is lifestyle that you not eat Ingredients from animal but still consume Egg and Milk. Sometimes people who claim they are Vegetarian is the people that start this lifestyle for their healt, they choose this lifestyle because they want (some people will say it’s) Diet from junk food or another food from meat that make them sick.

But Vegan is different than Vegetarian, this lifestyle it’s lifestyle that people claim they have motto “Animal Liberation,Human Liberation” that mean that they want animal alive on they side by side. Vegan it’s absolutly not consume product from animal (Meat,Egg,Milk,Fur,Leather) and they don’t consume product that make Animal testing on they product. So this Vegan lifestyle is like they are thinking that Animal is same as us they have the right for life, some Vegan believe if you all want to save this World from Global Warming, Extinction of animal, and another damage by us (human) especially, so Go Vegan For Animal, Go Vegan For Our Planet and Go Vegan For Our/Yourself.

Straight Edge: So what is Straight Edge? is that something that young people must know? Oh okay okay let’s talk about it. Let me tell you, Straight Edge just a song by a band called Minor Threat…So? Yes that’s just a song, Then what, why can it enter to the lifestyle? Yes it’s become lifestyle because the song that Minor Threat sing is about perspective about some dude who hate about living in some scene (music) that people always look that scene is bad scene…smoking, drugs, alcohol, they fight because they are not sober and they fight sometimes because effect from what I say (drugs and alcohol more precisely). This band Minor Threat it’s like they are sound for youth people (especially sober people) who hate the scene that people perspective always look bad on that scene cause they are on inside that scene too. As you all know young age it’s a age that young people always searching what they think cool what they think and it’s called the search for identity. Music is one of them, some young on they age sometimes always listening hard music or noise music like Punk, Hardcore, rock and all noise music (but not all young people hear this music) its make them sometimes so rebel, Young and Rebel its something that you can can’t be separated on that age. But sometimes that make young people think

that’s cool is something that make this young people fall into something bad and they cannot control what they should control . So Straight Edge is born from Music scene (especially punk and hardcore scene) from song that made by band called “Minor Threat”, this song become some movement by some people who have some voice about what they say and they fell, all young people who follow this lifestyle is people who don’t smoking, drunk alcohol , using drugs, not free sex (do not change partners), if you want search Straight Edge from music maybe you can search band called Minor Threat (IT’S MUST!) Youth Of Today (my inspiration name for this magazine), Judge, 7 Second, Social System Decontrol (SSD), Project X, and many more. Last Straight Edge is not people who judge people (but there is some militant on this) they still live together with people who nonstraight edge, there is some people who same as Straigt Edge (living healty) but they don’t claimed they’re Straight Edge, yeah like what I say this Straight Edge it’s a lifestyle who born from music scene so sometimes the people who claim follow Straight Edge is people who become part on that music scene, but that does not mean that people outside the music scene cannot be someone who follows the Straight Edge.

Oh Hello Lupi Can you introduce yourself and please tell me, what is “Buahtangan” about? • I’m Lupi im the owner of Buangtangan, in this industry im not work this alone, i have 2 partner the name is Arif and Farrel, we are make a teamwork on this industry for better on future. Buahtangan is part of the creative industry (fashion) using craft techniques or can be called ‘sashiko’ without machines (hand-made) in making products or selling services. Where media that supports clothing made of jeans. In addition, this Buahtangan is built as an educational space for the youth class offered in Bogor.
Why you make this stich with sashiko method? Why not using machine,is there any reason of that? • Everything we do at hand starts with a fondness for Japanese denim. We found more information about Japanese denim culture, finally finding Japanese sewing technique Sashiko. In Indonesia itself is not far from the embroidery technique. However, this sashiko technique has very aesthetic decorative stitches, different compilation using the results engine will look ordinary (monotonous). Because Sashiko has a unique technique that will never be found in a sewing machine. Then we go deeper and adopt it. At first, Sashiko was used to repair torn clothes in Japan, as time went on, there were new innovations where Sashiko was no longer just to repair clothes that were straightforward but rather towards fashion FDMTL examples.

How long you do your work? does that depend on the shape of the stitch? • Long enough, the process is at least 1 week to 4 weeks for 1 jeans, because it’s handmade. Then we choose a concept that fits the customer character. And depending on how badly damaged the pants. The pattern created is also very influential in the stitches, because in each pattern has its own pricking method and different levels of complexity.
Did you have favourite stich on your sashiko pattern? • The pattern that we often use is ‘simple sashiko’ because of the basic technique in sashiko by using running punctures and the same distance between each stitch so as to produce consistent and neatly patterned stitches. In addition to our ‘favorite sashiko’ favorite pattern, ‘Hitomezashi’, this technique is almost similar to ‘simple sashiko’, the difference is only in patterns that are repeatedly formed to fill the entire fabric or media section and are small in size. And finally ‘Shippo Tsunagi’ which means seven treasures. The unique sashiko in each pattern has its own philosophical meaning.

So its time to choose, stich on shoes or jeans? Give me the reason why you choose that • We prefer jeans, because this material is easier to penetrate from a wider medium space. Last but not least, What it’s the best that you get from this activity except money? • Its own pleasure and satisfaction have become the main part, because money is not everything. when we patched the jeans of teenagers, at that moment a sense of pride in ourselves arose. Besides that we carry out all this on the basis of the preference for sashiko not because of compulsion.

Oh Hello Naina Can you introduce yourself and please tell me, what is “Nanletters” about ? • Hi. I’m Naina Nanette, i’m 22 years old and i’m studying in Pakuan University. Nanletters is my brand name for my hand lettering, “nan” from my middle name and “letters” is about hand lettering that made by myself.
What is that make you starting to make this hand lettering? • i have too many free time and i often see hand lettering videos on instagram and i feel that’s so interesting so i start to make hand lettering since last year.

What is your favourite type/style on hand lettering? And the reason that become your favourite? • my favourite type of hand lettering is all type of font that need thin upstroke and thick downstroke style. On computer, the font is Lucida Handwriting. This font type become my favourite because this is the only font type that i can make. Haha.
Do you have some people/things inspiration from what you start to do on this activity? • not sure if i say i have some people/thing who inspiring me to do this art because i learn it by myself, but i have some instagram account who have too many beautiful hand lettering that can be a motivation for there who want to know or learn about hand lettering. There is Amanda Rach Lee (@amandarachlee), Lisa Funk (@ handlettereddesign), etc.

What the best you get it from what you do in this activity, and please don’t say moneybecause we know it’s one of them *LOL*? • the best thing that i can get from this activity is i’m spending my time to a positive hobby and make me have many hand lettering art collection. And yes, money is the one that i can get too, but i believe to what i often read that our hobbies is the best job that we can have.
Last but not least, sorry it’s stranger question, I want you share you expression on word…what if someone say in front of you and think what you do is boring activity ?, please share you expression on word *LOL* • too many people have a free time in their life and choose to wasting their time to some activity that not productive. But i’m doing this hand lettering as a good thing that i can do, i have make some art, and absolutely i’m not wasting my time.

Oh Hello Arafat Can you introduce yourself and please tell me, what is “Rumah Papas” about ? • Hello my name is Arafat Zawaid you can call me Acil and just like that hahaha, For your information I run this ‘Kedai Potong Rambut’ with my partners the name is Josep Pangestu (one of founder) and get help by Ferdinand too, Long story short, Me (Acil) and Jose came the idea to open a haircut shop in the garage of my house and was named the Rumah Papas. the word “Rumah” represents a layout that is made as if at home, and the word “Papas” represents the “home” nature that can make you able to pass on the person or thing you want to meet either intentionally or even by chance .
What is that make you run this Barber Shop,it’s that right I say you place is barber shop, and what if do you think you barber shop is different with another Barber Shop? • I would like to say my place is called ‘Kedai Potong Rambut’ and the brand is ‘Rumah Papas’, because I’m Indonesian, this place is in Indonesia, and the phrase of barbershop is too historical for this place. Also ‘Kedai Potong Rambut’ is more relate for the people and the environment in this place. What makes the different of Rumah Papas is the concept, especially the interior design, because we make the interior design look like a home, we want homey ambience, so people or customer can feeling relax in this Kedai Potong Rambut. We put a lot of books and magazines that people can read and feel like in home.

What is your favourite haircut style when your customer ask for his hair to be cut?
Do you run this activity yourself or have a partner, if yes can you introduce them to?
• I like an any unsusual haircut, because that is challenging and fun for me. For example like Flat Top or Afro haircut.
• I run this activity with my partner, Jose. Jose is same as old as me. Also, same as me, Jose start this activity about four years ago and finally we run the Rumah Papas in 2019.

Have you ever have a bored question from your customer, cause its always same question from different people? For example “Arafat can you make lengthen my hair” and I know that question always asked by customer to all barbershop (maybe) hahaha • Yes I have. Like you said. And more, like some people say “botakin aja bang” when their friend is on the haircutting chair hehe.
Last but not least, sorry it’s stranger question, I want you share your funny, stupid, accident activity with your customer when you cut his hair or when they on your place (Rumah Papas) on word • I’ve ever cut a little bit my customer’s ear in 2014 haha.
