DNE MESSAGE

I hope you are all doing well! With the end of the school year and this Key Club term coming up, I’m sure that many of you are busy. Despite this, your commitment to service is truly admirable.

This is my last newsletter, and though typing this is so bittersweet, I could not be more grateful for the support of this division! From the guidance of my IPs, to the encouragement of LTG Jennifer and my DLT, I am more than appreciative of you all! c:

ifiweretouseonewordtodescribethistermitwouldbe…wow.

throughout the past 11 months, there has been so many memories created and shared between you and i. from our spirit season with frn 2023 at six flags to electing the next lieutenant governor, our journey together is quickly approaching an end. despite the long nights of planning events and new initiatives for our division, being able to successfully execute dcms and various projects to better unite the members within our community has become my ultimate goal as ltg. i can proudly say that we did it! we well reached over twice of our service goals and approached very closely to our fundraising goal, this accomplishment is done becauseofYOU!

with that being said, thank YOU for being the prime reason as why i look forward to another dcm and another day as ltg. thank YOU for creating legendary impacts within our community— to be remembered for many years and beyond. thank YOU for making my job as ltg a memorable and forever special one. and lastly, thank YOU for being the reason i ran for lieutenant governor last year. whether we approach our future endeavors or start a new term in this organization, i want each and every one of you to remember the impact you have made on yourself and your community. but also, please don’t forget about me:”)

i want to take this special moment to thank every individual i have worked with on the officer board level, dlt, all advisors, and members i have met this term. thank you for making my job as ltg a easier one and i hope i had lived up to your standardsofagoodleader.

COG Interclub

The first annual COG Interclub was held on February 9th this month and it was a blazing success. Oakmont, Center and Granite Bay convened at our library and we created papers roses to give to orphanages and to sell for ourselves as well. We wanted to do something special for Valentines Day while also making money and helping charity. We decided on paper roses and created around 100 paper roses for boxes that we gave to charity and orphanages as well as sold some to raise money for our club and PTP.

Antelope Elections

To prepare for the election, our club dedicated most of February to promoting as well as encouraging members to run to be a Key Club officer. We had an informational meeting on February 7th, as well as an interview day on February 8th. On the 14th, Antelope Key Club held an election to form the new board for the 2024-2025 term. Officer candidates presented 2-3 minutes speeches to a room of 53 dues paid members, who casted their votes for their preferred candidates at the end of the election process.

Gathering Inn

Granite Bay Key Club enjoyed volunteering in a more impactful, indirect way on February 21st over presidential week break. Volunteers enjoyed serving Roseville’s homeless population at the Gathering Inn, a safe spot for the homeless to find clothes, shelter, and food. The members were quickly put to work sorting and folding clothes and creating piles of light clothes after bags of clothes that would not be used at the center were donated and distributed at various clothing drop centers. After hours of service had been completed members assisted with the packaging and moving of usable clothes for the center into their shop that distributes clothes for the residence to find free of charge. Members had a wonderful time, socializing, and learning about each other, as well as contemplating the reality of the bubble in which we live; many left with a newfound appreciation for their blessings and a renewed zeal for service that is impactful.
