We have all seen Tanishaa in the movies, reality shows etc. Introduce us to TANISHAA now, The one we speak to, the one who has evolved.. Confident, Straight forward, adventurous & ambitious. I love spending time with my family, friends, my pets, my iPhone & iPad. I believe that not only are you responsible for your life, but doing the best at this moment puts you In the best place for the next moment. There have been many interviews of yours over time, But for our readers, Tell us one thing we don’t know about you Already? There should be a mystery about a star. Why should you know everything? There is nothing wrong about being mysterious. You reserve a certain part of life for you. Born to a legend and grown up with another, How challenging has that been? This journey has been challenging but rewarding, it enhanced my professional growth through reflection and self-evaluation.

time, a heavy deep moisturizing cream at night, plenty of water, balanced meals and adequate sleep. For my hair, I make sure I invest in regular deep conditioning massages with coconut-based hair oil. It’s a great way to keep your hair voluminous, thick and full of bounce without much sweat. This is my non-negotiable hair care ritual. I never go anywhere without my Kajal, moisturizing sunblock, Lipsticks, Hair Serum, Conditioner, Shampoo and hair mask which deeply nourish my hair. As a Professional Lady, what advice do you have to other working ladies, and their Beauty essentials? Like I said, being comfortable in one’s skin is the first step to feeling beautiful. Every woman weather working or housewife; should always believe she is beautiful. You should wear clothes that make you more confidant and presentable. Always wear some makeup, basics like a kajal in the eyes and a gloss or subtle Lipper should work. Such make-up not only enhances the features, it also adds oodles of confidence and a dash of glamour. Get a good haircut and maintain a healthy body.

Beauty has come to you as a legacy, although what is the real meaning of Beauty for you?

Beauty and fashion is more achievable now than before, the movies and the runway have found a way to our wardrobes. What are your tips in creating a DIVA in every woman?

To me, beauty is being comfortable in your own skin and making the most of what you have been blessed with. It’s the ability to understand your strengths, your features, your style and what works for you. I always thought that I’d be really good at giving people makeovers because I feel like I have a good eye when it comes to identifying people’s strong features.

Don’t follow trends blindly. Make the trend work for you; customize it to your personal style. Also less is more, whether it’s plucking your brow hair, applying foundation, concealer, or anything else. It’s always better to work from less to more. What are your dreams and plans in the Near Future?

What does Make-up mean to you and what is your favorite look? I feel my best and beautiful when I’m fresh and healthy… and also when I pout! I drink lots of water and try to maintain a healthy, balanced diet. Most importantly, I am extremely self-confident and believe in my work and myself, which makes me feel secure and beautiful.

- Acting as I have few projects in my kitty. - As an actor, it has been a roller coasters ride which implies extremes of ups & downs. But this is an ongoing learning that I am moving on with, and inhibiting every lesson derived from my initiatives. As a producer, looking forward to producing more rom coms as it is in vogue persistently. - Balancing both.

Tell us about your Beauty regime, your essentials and your favorite skin care routine?

Tell us one decision that you feel you should have taken a lot earlier? And one decision you regret taking?

For my skin I use a moisturizer with SPF in the day

- Nothing! Nothing can stop me. I love challenges.

to use. Aromatherapy Oils offer a wonderful mean of achieving Total Skin Care.

Seasonal climatic conditions are back with the winter chill playing with our skin and body. Dehydration and over dryness of upper crest of the skin prompts us to opt for over the counter purchase of Moisturizers, Cold creams and Sun Screens. But do we know as to how our skin behaves in the changing climatic conditions.

1. Cleanse your face with either Natural Rose Water or Aroma water of either of Lavender, Chamomile, Neroli Aroma Oils (one drop in one bowl of water is enough).

Behaviour of the skin

2. Aloe Vera Juice or extract also offers a good option.

1. Dry windy condition makes our skin lose moistness of the topmost layer making it more prone towards Allergies, pigmentations and over dryness with conspicuous fine wrinkle lines.

3. Scrub your face with Oatmeal powder mixed with Almond, Orange peel powder and half drop of sandalwood or frankincense Oil.

2. Skin pores open up, a condition fit for catching infections.

3. Broken skin on the cheeks makes it itchy and sensitive. 4. Any incompatible skin care product shall induce itching and rashes.

4. Nourishing Facial cream with sandalwood, Cardamom or Neroli Aroma oils helps you to bring back the lost Facial Glow Instantly. 5. Face Pack with Milk Powder or Whey mixed with one tenth of a drop of patchouli Aroma Oils helps to overcome extra sensitiveness of the skin and helps remove the fine lines.

5. Dullness and loss of fairness is common in winters.

Sun Screen with Maximum fairness can be achieved by mixing Aromatherapy oils as under:

Our prudence is in opting for more natural skin care Products which are non allergic and baby soft

Geranium and two drops of Carrot Seed oil. A few drops of this Oil when applied daily not only acts as UV Barrier but also helps you get rid of over Pigmentation of the Face and Body.

shampoo for washing at 2-3 days interval and follow up with Cationic conditioners which need further rinsing off but provide a thin layer of conditioning and brings back lost luster without making the hair heavier.

Don’t forget to adopt a fruit based diet and liquid diet especially at night and drink as much water as possible to help over sluggish digestion.

4. You may try Egg Albumin Pack, Curd Pack and even Hot Oil Massage on weekly basis.

Hair and Scalp care in winters As with the Skin, the Hair and its roots also suffer due to chilly winds and tend to become rough, frizzy, extra dry and lose sheen. Even extra Conditioner enriched shampoos also don’t provide complete relief. Our cozy feeling of a Hot Shower also takes away the Sebum, the Scalp Oil, already scanty on the scalp. Over indulgence on Hot Bath definitely makes the Hair and Scalp extra dry and the Epidermis, the Upper crust of the skin tends break away and falls on your face and shoulders giving you the scare of dandruff.

Do’s & Don’ts 1. Never indulge in Hot Baths for Long durations and Hot showers and the bathing water should be at approximately 40 degree C.

2. Never try to use Extra Conditioning Shampoos since those may contain Silicon Based Conditioners which deposits in cuticles and makes your hair heavy, though, providing instant gloss and sheen. As a result, your hair tends to become frizzy and at times shows damages leading to split –ends.

5. While using Anti dandruff Shampoo, make sure that you have Scalp dandruff; otherwise Deep Conditioning as listed above shall provide you relief from white scales on your shoulders. 6. It’s better to minimize the chemical uses on the hair and scalp as they tend to make your hair more dry and scaly. Even Hot Rollers and Pressing Machines (for smoothening purposes) should be used only after taking care of conditioning. 7. Aromatherapy oils for extra dry Hair and Scalp can easily be included in your weekly hair regimen to retain its health. 8. Two drops each of Lavender oil and Tea Tree oil mixed with two Tea spoon Olive or Almond Oil applied on scalp at night shall not only provide you relief from itching scalp but also give you a peaceful and sound sleep. It should be shampooed off next day with Lavender Shampoo.

3. It is always advisable to use normal

Profile

The Cosmetic Magician Persona is the Cosmetic Surgery clinic of Dr. Swaroop Singh Gambhir . Dr. S. S. Gambhir received his Bachelor’s Degree in 1995 from Banaras Hindu University. After graduating from he had done his residency in general surgery from same hospital and completed his post-graduation in 1999.after that he joined plastic surgery residency programme from Lok Nayak Hospital And Associated Maulana Azad Medical college, New-Delhi and got his board certification in Plastic Surgery in 2004 Dr. S.S Gambhir then joined as a specialist in Lok Nayak hospital. Dr. Gambhir then did his Hand & microsurgical fellowship from Coimbatore. During this period of training, he attended many conferences, presented papers and participated in workshops and tutorials. Dr. Gambhir is a member of National Academy of medical sciences India and also active life member of the Association of Plastic Surgeon of India. He joined Sir Ganga Ram Hospital as a consultant in Plastic and Cosmetic Surgery department and is doing lot of cosmetic surgery procedures.

-22-

Dr Gambhir’s is an experienced and renowned micro vascular surgeon and has done many re-implants and micro vascular free flaps which is a very difficult and demanding surgery. But his passion lies in the aesthetic improvement and rejuvenation of the face. He has special inclination towards face contouring surgery and a very difficult part of cosmetic surgery i.e Rhinoplasty. Over the years he has mastered the art of Rhinoplasty and done hundreds of successful cases. He is now doing structural correction of deformity of face. Further, Dr. Gambhir gives Diva Talk Readers and overview of Cosmetic Surgery.

Should you go under the knife? Are you considering an elective cosmetic surgery procedure? You're definitely not alone! In fact, according to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, 14.6 million cosmetic plastic surgery procedures were performed in the U.S. last year alone. Here are things to think about before taking drastic measures.

Appearance Elective cosmetic surgery may help your outward appearance, but remember that beauty is only skin deep. It's your character and personality that make people love you for who you are. Be sure you have a loving support system before making such a big decision.

Confidence Having low self-esteem as a result of a physical attribute you're not happy with can affect all areas of your life. There's nothing wrong with thinking you could be happier, as a result of being more confident,

Diva Talk, Vol-V: No.1, January-February 2016

Profile if you could put your best face forward. Remember though, surgery is not a cure for deeper issues such as depression or jealousy. Be sure you are working through the root of the problem before going under the knife.

Relationships This new-found confidence may strengthen your social skills, which will in turn help you to make new friends and relationships. For example, you may no longer be as shy, which can help you to break the ice more easily in professional settings. Or you may not be as insecure, so you can flirt back without anxiety.

Cost Plastic surgery is not cheap. And it is definitely not an area where you want to cut costs — we're talking about your life here! It's important to go on a few different consultations. Gather quotes, talk to board certified doctors and ultimately choose one you trust. It could also help to talk to a handful of their clients who have had the same procedure you're considering.

Others' reactions Strangers will never know you underwent plastic surgery unless ofcourse you tell them. But friends and family most likely will — if it's obvious. Some will be supportive, but others will totally judge you. They'll assume you have horrible self-esteem, are materialistic or shallow. Or, they'll be jealous and treat you differently. Either way, make sure you're comfortable with people never truly understanding your motives, because even if you talk about it with family and friends, it can be hard for them to accept.

Physical risks There are several different risks associated with each procedure, depending on what you want to get done. These include a risk of infection at the incision site, scarring, nerve damage, blood clots and the dangers of being put under anesthesia. Do research and talk in details with your surgeon on the dangers associated with the surgery you want, and decide if it's something you're willing to risk.

Realistic expectations

Maintenance A lot of times, it's not just as simple as going in just once. You may have to go in for several "maintenance" surgeries every few months or years. You'll have to be aware of this going in so you know if you have the time, patience and money for the upkeep. Many people consider the option of cosmetic surgery. Of course, going under the knife is something that can make you feel apprehensive. There are also a number of reasons why you might want to get cosmetic surgery. Regardless of your reasoning, it is important to know all about the pros and cons that go along with it.

Pros One of the biggest pros toward getting cosmetic surgery is that your appearance can be enhanced. Along with an enhancement of one’s appearance, a person’s confidence level and self-esteem can also be improved as a result of getting cosmetic surgery. In some instances, cosmetic surgery can actually improve your overall health. A good example is a breast reduction for a woman who is very large busted. Many women who have this issue experience pain on a regular basis as a result of the extra pressure on their backs and shoulders due to the added weight of their breasts. When they have them reduced, they can feel better about themselves and have a better posture, which can alleviate pain.

Cons One of the biggest of cosmetic surgery is that there are always risks of complications. It is still a major surgery, which means there can be problems that can include bad reactions to anesthetic or the risk of hemorrhaging due to the surgery itself. Sometimes, your expectations may be higher than what cosmetic surgery can produce. Some people are still not happy after their surgery and mistakenly think it will solve all of their problems beforehand. Finally, one of the biggest cons of having cosmetic surgery is that it is an expensive option.

If you have unrealistic visions of what you'll look like after surgery, you may need a reality check. Understanding what can be done given your personal situation is something you need to talk to your surgeon about. Also prepare yourself for the surgery not going as planned. If you walked in with Sarah Jessica Parker's nose expecting to walk out with Natalie Portman's and instead ended up with Anne Hathaway's, you have to be alright with that. They are surgeons, not miracle workers. And remember, all of the problems in your life pre-surgery will still be there afterwards.

very girl wants to look perfect on her wedding. For this, she meticulously plans all the outfits and jewelry she will be wearing for the D-day and the pre- and post-wedding functions too. Even when it comes to bridal hairstyles, we hairstylists offer a number of options to add more glamour to her look. These days, hair accessories have gone all the more stylish with trendy additions inspired from the ramp and Bollywood stars. They not only embellish the hairdo, but also make the bride stand out by enhancing the overall look. Hair accessories are probably among the few objects that are often overlooked. Their function is to embellish the hair without being obvious. Gone are the days when hair accessories were only limited to hair band or a pin and clip, Now the market is exaggerated with different types of hair accessories for women. As an up to date Hairstylist and Bridal expert, you need to know all about these accessories and there best uses. We at Diva Talk research team, all inspired by the wedding season bring to you a short version of these glam quotients. If you want to choose one, we have some stylish hair accessory options- traditional as well as modern- to look absolutely ravishing.

-24-

The Modern Version Jeweled or beaded chains This is a modern version of the traditional bridal maang tikka that most young women prefer today. After this piece was popularised in many bridal fashion shows and on the red carpet, it has become an accessory of first choice for functions like the engagement and reception, where the look can be a little less traditional. If your bride wants a more traditional look, choose a chain of pearls with a simple maang tikka. Style tip: A jewelled chain will add more glamour to a bouffant or bun.

Glittering hairbands Designer Sabyasachi first made jewelled hairbands popular in his fashion shows, and soon many B-town stars picked this trend for the red carpet. Young brides seem to have picked this trend too! The best part about this accessory is that it can hide a hairstyle gone wrong effectively without much hassle! Style tip: Keep the band subtle if your outfit is too shimmery, and choose a sparkling, bejewelled band for a simple outfit.

Jewelry That Flatters Face Shape and Jewelry — What Every Bride Needs to Know

Jewelry is undoubtedly the most important part of a bride’s look on her wedding day. It is also the trickiest to choose, keeping in mind not just the current trends and personal taste, but also one’s face shape and skin tone. Yes, the bridal jewelry must be bought with complete attention to such details that one might ignore otherwise. As a perfect Bridal Expert, You can really suggest your Brides to be the perfect style and shape of jewelry that would best suit their face shape and skin tone. To pick out the perfect bridal jewelry for your client’s D-day, allow Diva Talk Research Team to be your guide, and help you through your journey of being the best Bridal Expert in every sense and for your Brides to be in helping them in buying the perfect wedding sets. Not every bride has a significant face shape that needs balancing by her wedding hairstyle and gown, but you will run across some brides that will benefit from this knowledge. The face shape is determined when all of the hair is pulled away and the outer edge of the face is studied. At the same time the features within the face can be soft or angular. Let’s look further into this important dimension necessary to pull together the brides “Total Bridal Look.”

And Triangle

Understand the Face Shape

- A rectangle face is similar to a square. But the face is longer than it is wide.

It is important to understand your client’s face shape, before you let her begin with her jewellery shopping. We are going to tell you about neckpieces and earrings styles that will flatter your client’s face shape because maang tikkas are comparatively simpler to choose. To select a perfect one, keep your client’s forehead in consideration. If your bride has a broad forehead, then safely go for a heavier maang tikka with a matha patti. If your bride has a small forehead, pick out a small tikka, and go for a small crystal bindi along with it. Oval, Round, Oblong, Heart, Diamond, Square, Rectangle, -28-

- The first four face shapes are soft and curved. The last four face shapes have more angles and corners. - An oval face is slightly longer than is it wide with curved soft edges. - A round face will have equal distance all around with the nose as a center point. It will be as wide as it is long with rounded edges. - An oblong face is an elongated oval shape. - Many oblongs are mistaken for an oval. But placed next to a true oval you can see that they are oblong. - A heart shape is wider at the eye, temple, and cheek area with a narrow chin. The edges are soft and curved. - A diamond face shape is widest at the cheeks, narrow at the chin and forehead. It has sharper features. - A square face is basically straight across at the forehead and along the side of the face. The jaw is strong and square. The chin may stick out a bit. When the distance from the top of the face to the chin matches the width, this is a square face.

- A triangle face is similar to a heart shape. But the lines and edges are sharper and more angular.

A face shape is not set in stone. Someone’s seemingly oval face may look more round next to someone else’s oval. Two people can both be square but one will be squarer than the other will. The neckline of the gown, the face shape and the size of the bride all need to be taken into consideration when selecting jewelry. The right jewelry will flatter the bride; the wrong jewelry will just stand out. To help the bride with her jewelry selections look to blending

the lines of her face with the lines in the jewelry. To create a counterbalance with the necklace and earrings, look to her face shape and gown neckline. The perfect earring can light up the face of the bride. Necklaces should complement the neckline of the gown, the face shape and the detail of the bodice. A very ornate gown and headpiece can carry a more ornate jewelry selection. Let’s consider each face shape individually with the necklace in mind. Matha Patti jewellery is a beautiful accompaniment headpiece and the latest fashion style trend with the brides todayDepending on your face shape a wellchosen elegant style Matha Patti can turn any bride into a Princess. It is very important to match the Matha Patti not only to the style of the wedding dress but more importantly to the proportions of your client’s face as well. Here is a short guide on how to select a Matha Patti, earrings and necklace style that adds the charm to your client on her special day and makes you the best makeover artist in return.

30-Dec-15 1:39:14 PM

Diva Talk - Your Complete Beauty Guide Oval Oval face is symmetrical and is considered to be the perfect shape. Oval Face Shape is the most versatile and proportionate of all shapes. People with wellbalanced oval face really can play with different styles. Any style of Matha Patti goes well with this ideal shape. Although these brides are lucky enough to suit most styles of Matha Patti, avoid covering up your client’s lovely symmetrical features with heavy and broad ones. Neither round nor long, this face shape is one where lots of versatility can be explored. Your client can flaunt long and short necklaces with equal aplomb. Keep the size of the earring in balance to the size of the bride, whether she is petite or large. In keeping with the soft lines of her face, soft shapes such as pearls tear drops, circles, and ovals are best. You can suggest her to play around with different styles of earrings, especially big hoops and danglers. While going for danglers, pick the ones that are angular in shape. Extra-long earrings are the only unsafe bet for this face shape.

Oblong When your client’s face is long and narrow, you need to add width. Consider a broad and elaborate Matha Patti. An oblong face looks best with button earrings drawing the eye horizontally. At the same time, an oblong face can carry a choker style necklace well. This helps to break up the vertical line that is happening with an oblong face.

Round Right kind of jewelry will help your client to offset the roundness of her face. If your client’s face is round and full, you need to add length. To lengthen the face length, find a Matha Patti headpiece that is thin and less detailed. Remember to keep away from Pakeezah style or half Matha Patti as it will stress the roundness of the face. A round face needs a necklace that adds length to her look. A longer or T-style necklace complements a round face. Stay away from chokers or short necklaces. Also stay away from large stones or pearls. You don’t want to add any visual thickness to the neck with a round face. A deep plunging neckline can carry a beautiful necklace and is great for a round face. Pick a long necklace that extends below the neckline, along with chandelier earrings. Let your client try earrings in different shapes and cuts, like square or oval. Teardrop earrings would look best on a round face shape. Steer clear of round-shaped earrings, and even round cut diamonds or gemstones.

Square Rectangular faces have a strong brow bone, cheekbones and jaw bone structure. Pakeezah style hair Matha Patti worn by parting the hair on the side will soften

-30-

Feature the forehead and jaw line. It gives an asymmetric look to the wearer and makes her quite noticeable. Square faces need length and softness. A T-style necklace or a simple strand of pearls that hang a little bit longer is perfect. A set of drop earrings, creating the look of length, complements the square face.

Rectangular A rectangular face tends to have higher cheekbones and a higher forehead. The face appears to be longer than it is wide. While wearing a Matha Patti, those with rectangular faces should avoid center parting hairstyles as the eye will be taken down the middle of the face where it’s longest and this will exaggerate your face length. Make your client wear the Matha Patti on the forehead to cover it up a bit. As it make the face look more oval. Complement the length of your client’s face with contrasting jewelry style. Choker-style necklace will look perfect on your client, combined with short or round earrings. Even button earrings are a great choice. Basically, suggest her to go for earrings that are soft and round. Do not ever go for hard angles like rectangular and square earrings.

Heart-Shaped Also Known as “Inverted triangle” super-cute heartshaped face girls have a wide forehead, a cheek area that is slightly wider than the hairline and then drops into a pointed chine. Braid your client’s hair for a neat sweet, soft, feminine look that opens up her face. A regal style Multi-Layer Matha Patti which has more than one layer of side panels is flattering on a heartshaped face because it opens up the face and features the gorgeous jawline of a heart shaped face. Since your client’s chin area is narrower, suggest her to go for shorter necklaces and chokers or a triple or double strand of pearls that lend a bit of roundness to her face. Danglers and teardrop earrings will give an elongated look to your client’s face, and also ensure that the jawline does not look too sharp. Long cylindrical and triangular danglers are the ones your cleint should be looking for. Stay away from small earrings and studs. A heart shape face needs earrings that are wider at the bottom to balance a narrow chin. Shapes such as teardrops or inverted triangles or button earrings work well.

Diamond A diamond face shape can follow the same “rules” for an oval. But this face shape can carry a more dramatic design. Corners, points, and harder edges complement the angular face. Cut crystals are nice with the diamond face. A diamond face shape is like the oval face shape but with corners. It can carry any style. Just keep it proportioned to the bride’s size. Drop crystals look beautiful with a diamond face.

Diva Talk, Vol-V: No.1, January-February 2016

DT JAN FAB 2016.indd 30

30-Dec-15 1:39:14 PM

Feature Triangular A triangular face shape is similar to a heart shape but with more prominent angles. Balance this face with width at the bottom. A triangle face is a heart shape with corners and angles. Remember you can match the angles for impact or counterbalance them for softness. Stay away from necklaces that end with a point. A wider look balances the triangle face.

Wedding Gown Necklines A great rule of thumb is “opposites attract.” A round full face needs a deep V to elongate and thin out the face. A square jaw line needs the softness of a lace edge or scoop neckline. An oblong face shape is complemented by a Sabrina neckline, off the shoulder or strapless gown. A heart shape or triangle needs width at the jaw line; hug the shoulder or a wide scoop would be a great choice. Note: A diamond face and an oval have perfect proportions and are symmetrical so their choices are limitless.

Understand the Skin Tone Skin tone does not only refer to being fair or dark. What we are talking about here is whether your client is a warm-toned or a cool-toned person! Depending on this, the jewelry style that would suit your client, will obviously differ.

Cool tone If the veins appear bluish in colour, and your client’s skin has a rosy undertone, then she is a cool-toned person. Diamonds are truly her best friends. Apart from that, suggest her to choose metals, like platinum, white gold, silver, and Cubic Zirconis (CZ). They will look stunning on her. When your client wishes to adorn a gemstone, look no further than white pearls, blue sapphires, ravishing rubies, exquisite amethysts, and striking deep emeralds. Also, she should not shy away

Your Complete Beauty Guide -

Diva Talk

from embracing bright colours like pink, red, and purple that will make her look vivacious.

Warm tone If the veins are greenish in appearance, and your client’s skin has a golden sheen to it, then you have a warm skin tone client. Suggest her to embrace yellow gold, kundan, or copper on her special day. Talking of precious and semi-precious stones, suggest her to go for colours like brown, yellow, orange, coral, turquoise, and olive. Golden pearls will also look great on her.

Handy Tips ● If your clients do not wish to attract attention to their broad shoulders, suggest them to avoid wearing brooches or an armband. ● For any particular look, suggest them to pick jewellery in one colour. Do not pick a red bracelet with blue earrings. It will end up looking tacky. ● If your client’s outfit is too sparkly, then tell her to go for subtle jewelry. ● Do not let a piece of jewellery converge with another accessory or clothing. For instance, a necklace should not cover your client’s studded waist belt, but rather end a few inches above it. Your client’s look can go from ordinary to extraordinary, if you keep the above-mentioned tips in mind and suggest them in consultations for their Big Day. Brides will appreciate your knowledge. An educated bridal specialist should be educated in all areas of bridal beauty. The more you research the bridal industry the more knowledgeable you will become. The more knowledgeable you become the more confident you will be. You need to be able to address all the beauty needs of the bride. She will ultimately look to you to give her the total bridal look she is after.

you can choose from broaches, accessory pieces and so much more. There is a vast range from complete traditional looks to utter contemporary modern looks. A few variants we have shared in the pictures along.

Half tied hair is an advanced variant of open hair. The look is slightly more formal and presentable as compared. Hence the accessorizing is also comparatively more dressy and stylish. Embellished pins, ornate clips and clutches can all be used to dress up a half tied hair do. In a half tied look there will obviously be pins and clips to hide. Medium size broaches and dressy accessories come in handy to cover up as well as look stylish. There is a vast range available including Indian as well as western concepts.

Hair Extensions Long hair is loved by every woman, but growing them is always a pain and a task of utter patience. Hence, when we don’t have it we can always fake it. On a serious note, Short hair is no more a hindrance in achieving the looks your client desires. There is a vast collection of hair extensions in both human as well as artificial hair variants. The real hair extensions can be washed, curled and styled as per the client’s need and are of multiple use. The Artificial ones although cannot be curled with heat unless they are specified as heat resistant. But well, fashion is worth the effort always.

Hair updo’s Hair Updo’s are the most sought out hair styles when it comes to dressing up in the Indian Subcontinent. These hair – dos or Buns range from low neck chignons or simple buns to mid-level mature buns to elaborate high buns on the crown area. Many hair stylists these days experiment with the looks adding a few open strands or curled ones only to add glamour. Similarly the Accessories can also be played with to glam up your client’s looks. There is the widest range of accessories when it comes to dressing up up-do’s. From simple artificial flowers, to real flowers

We have tried to put in a brief version of what the various possibilities are. Like we said earlier, this is just a beginning and the end is entirely on your creativity and imagination. The options and pictures are merely for reference and inspiration. There is no end to creativity and we would love to hear from you about your ideas on accessorizing hair.

Many oils can be used in an inhaler, or a room diffuser, even applied to the bottom of your feet and even added to body wash, lotions or moisturizers. HERE ARE OUR TOP 10 ESSENTIAL OILS FOR COLDS AND FLU:

1. Oregano

Antiviral and antibacterial, this essential oil helps boost the immune system and is perfect for combating infections. You can even use it to make a natural hand sanitizer.

2. Thyme

If your immune system needs a boost (or your liver needs a detox), turn to thyme oil, one of the original ingredients in Listerine! This oil also has antiseptic properties, and can be used to stimulate circulation in those with sports injuries, pains and strains.

Eucalyptus

This antiseptic and antibacterial oil is often found in cough drops and ointments (if you’ve ever used VapoRub, you’ve smelled it). Eucalyptus essential oil stimulates the immune system and combats inflammation in the lungs. Use it to make your own steam inhalation remedy, great for healing sinus infections.

4. Lime

Like its cousin orange oil, lime oil has tons of uses. It’s antiseptic, antibacterial and antiviral, meaning it will help your immune system fight off germs left and right. It can also be added to natural household cleaners, and is great at removing sticker residue and gum from surfaces.

5. Frankincense

Great for coughs, frankincense oil is said to be a natural remedy for the lungs. Use it as an antiseptic spray, too, in order to protect wounds.

6. Peppermint

Peppermint oil just smells healthy! Not only is it great for digestion, it’s beneficial to the respiratory system. And you can make your own toothpaste with it!

7. Hyssop

Hyssop helps with respiratory infections (like bronchitis) and supports the lungs. If you get chronic bronchitis or just have a pesky cough that won’t go away, try this one out. It’s also said to help with water retention and bruises.

8. Lemon

When earaches or swelling in your lymph nodes has you feeling icky, rub a little lemon oil (with carrier oil) around your ears and/or lymph nodes to allow them to drain. Lemon oil also helps energize, making it perfect for an air freshener.

9. Clove

Known for its toothache-remedying powers, clove oil is also anti-inflammatory, analgesic and anti-bacterial. It’s often mixed with cinnamon, clove, eucalyptus, lemon and rosemary in a blend called Thieves Oil. Or mix with vanilla and use it in this body oil.

10. G inger

If nausea is what’s getting you down (that darn flu!), opt for ginger essential oil, which can also soothe flurelated aches and pains.

1. Boosts Collagen Production: Collagen synthesis declines with the progression of age and due to sub exposure, leading to skin damage. Eating a medium orange in a day provides enough vitamin C and citric acid to boost collagen production. This, in turn, helps in lowering the damages to the skin.

2. Anti-ageing Benefits: Oranges contain citric acid, a key component of the alpha hydroxyl acid group that can reduce wrinkles and soften the skin. It is often used in chemical peel products to remove dead cells and make skin look younger. Vitamin C, on the other hand, boosts the production of collagen, thus keeping the skin firm and moist. Bye Bye Acne & Blackheads: The high levels of vitamin A in oranges protects the skin from invading bacteria and viruses while vitamin C helps reduce skin swelling, thus minimizing the occurrence of pimples. Citric acid is a powerful exfoliating agent that can eliminate the dead skin cells and cleanse the pores, thus helping to prevent acne. Orange juice is full of citric acid, which is an amazing ingredient that helps to reduce pimples. Just rubbing some orange juice onto affected areas makes the pimples dry up, leaving one with clear and blemish free skin. You can prepare a face scrub from orange peels which have been dried in the sun for few days. Grind these into a fine powder. To prepare the face pack, combine ½ teaspoon of orange peel powder with 1 teaspoon yoghurt and add a few drops of lemon juice. Apply it on your face and allow it to dry. Rinse off with cold water. This will not only keep pimples at bay but will also help to deal with oily skin.

4. Sun Protection: Vitamin C and vitamin A in oranges are powerful antioxidants that can reverse sun damage, thus protecting the skin from cancer and other harmful effects. Exposure to sun results in breaking down of vitamin A in your skin, leading to skin damage. Consumption of orange can help replace this vitamin A and repair the damage while vitamin C improves the immunity of the skin against the sun, thus preventing sun damage. To get rid of sun tan, you can add some orange juice to the mixture of orange peel powder and yoghurt given above and apply it on the affected area. This will reduce sun tan

The New Humanity As in all great critical periods of human history, humanity is now going through the agonising travail of spiritual rebirth. Great forces of destruction are afoot and seem to be dominant at the moment, but constructive and creative forces which will redeem humanity are also being released through several channels. Although the working of these forces of light is chiefly silent, they are eventually bound to bring about those transformations which will make the further spiritual advance of humanity safe and steady. It is all a part of the divine plan, which is to give to the hungry and weary world a fresh dispensation of the eternal and only Truth. At present the urgent problem facing humanity is to devise ways and means of eliminating competition, conflict and rivalry in all the subtle and gross forms which they assume in the various spheres of life. Military wars are, of course, the most obvious sources of chaos and destruction. However, wars in themselves do not constitute the central problem for humanity, but are rather the external symptoms of something graver at their root. Wars and the suffering they bring cannot be completely avoided by mere propaganda against war; if they are to disappear from human history it will be necessary to tackle their root-cause. Even when military wars are not being waged, individuals or groups of individuals are constantly engaged in economic or some other subtle form of warfare. Military wars, with all the cruelty which they involve, arise only when these underground causes are aggravated. The root-cause of the chaos which precipitates itself in wars is that most persons are in the grip of egoism and selfish considerations, and they express their egoism and self-interest individually as well as collectively. This is the life of illusory values in which men are caught. To face the Truth is to realise that life is one, in and through its manifold manifestations. To have this understanding is to forget the limiting self in the realization of the unity of life. With the dawn of true understanding the problem of wars would -50-

immediately disappear. Wars have to be so clearly seen as both unnecessary and unreasonable that the immediate problem would not be how to stop wars but to wage them spiritually against the attitude of mind responsible for such a cruel and painful state of things. In the light of the Truth of the unity of all life, co-operative and harmonious action becomes natural and inevitable. Hence, the chief task before those who are deeply concerned with the rebuilding of humanity, is to do their utmost to dispel the spiritual ignorance which envelops humanity. Wars do not arise merely to secure material adjustment; they are often the product of uncritical dentification with narrow interests which through association come to be included in that part of the world which is regarded as “mine.” Material adjustment is only part of the wider problem of establishing spiritual adjustment, but spiritual adjustment requires the elimination of self not only from the material aspects of life but also from those spheres which affect the intellectual, emotional and cultural life of man.
