PROCESS

Plan, Design, Construct

1

DESIGN CONSULTATION You will meet your designer in the comfort of your home, where we will determine the scope of the project, so as to provide you with a detailed construction quote.

2

DESIGN MEETING We will then conduct a design meeting where we will review the design layout. In this meeting we will also begin to select your fixtures and fittings so that we can provide you with an itemised product quote. We will then finalise the layout, the design details, and the products, to fit in with your budget. Depending on the scope of the project, we might meet with you once, or maybe three times... how ever long it takes to get it just right!

3

CO-ORDINATION & CONSTRUCTION During the construction process, you will have your own ‘Lead Tradesman’ who will be responsible for coordinating your project on-site, in partnership with your Designer who schedules the multiple trades and coordinates the products.

BUDGET BREAKDOWN Plan, Design, Construct

Your investment into a new bathroom goes towards two distinct areas,

Products and Construction.

CONSTRUCTION

Typically your total investment will be 1/3 towards products and 2/3 towards labour.

Building Materials & Labour (10 trades involved)

PRODUCTS

Specified Fixtures & Fittings

ALL PROJECT MANAGED & CO-ORDINATED, FOR YOU, BY THE DIVINE TEAM So, for example, if the final project cost is $21,000, the split is likely to be $14,000 for construction, and $7,000 for products. This is all dependent on the products that you choose and the scope of the construction works to be completed.

INVESTMENT INVOLVED Plan, Design, Construct

Bathroom “Refresh” (typically starting at $18,000) If the current layout of your bathroom isn’t a problem, and you are just seeking a fresh update, then the best option is to utilise the existing layout by simply renewing the fittings, fixtures, and tiling. This type of renovation can be completed for either as little as $18,000, if you make smart product selections, or can cost as much as $27,000 if you opt for luxurious fittings.

OR Changing the Layout (typically starting at $24,000) Often as your needs change the existing layout of your bathroom will not fit your lifestyle any longer. A well thought out layout can really add to the value of your home as well as being more functional for your personal use. Changing the layout is easily achieved during the renovation process but costs more due to the extra complexity of moving existing plumbing and electrical work. These renovations usually start from $24,000.

RENOVATION FAQ’S Plan, Design, Construct

Will Divine project manage my entire renovation?

YES. Divine fully project manages the entire renovation so that you have just one point of contact; this ensures quality control and a smooth and seamless process. With so many trades involved in bathroom, kitchen, and laundry renovations it’s crucial that the person overseeing the project specialises in this field. The entire project including all trades will form part of the one contract which means you will have your own designated lead tradesman/project manager to oversee and co-ordinate the entire project from start to finish, ensuring the best possible result. As part of your project, you will also receive a Home Warranty Insurance certificate which gives you extra peace of mind that you are dealing with a company you can trust.

Does my renovation come with a guarantee?

YES. All work carried out by Divine is to the highest standards and exceeds today’s regulations and industry standards. We back the quality of our bathroom, kitchen and laundry renovations by offering a 7 year workmanship guarantee; and all products have manufacturers’ warranties, along with our after-sales service. Ultimately giving you peace of mind, security, and the certainty you deserve. That’s the benefit of using a reputable company like Divine.

Are you licensed, qualified, and insured?

Yes, as a QBSA licensed builder, a professional member of Kitchen and Bathroom design Institute (KBDI) and the Housing Industry Association (HIA) we carry a professional guarantee of quality and are bound by their individual mark of assurance for both the design and building industry standards. In addition to having the relevant builders licenses in Queensland, we also have all the relevant and necessary insurances in place including public liability and current workers compensation insurance. In addition each kitchen or bathroom project is covered by QBSA mandatory Home owners warranty insurance.

Do you use the same tradesmen on each project?

Yes, all our trades are consistent, which gives us quality performance every time.

Can you renovate other areas of the home?

Yes. We are licenced builders and can assist you with design and renovation of these rooms too. We specialise in bathrooms, kitchens, and laundries, but have also completed other works such as outdoor kitchens, adding additional rooms, house extensions, walk in wardrobes, living rooms, and commercial renovations.

How do we ensure everything remains within our budget?

It’s important that the designer understands the project budget in the initial client brief – otherwise valuable time can be wasted. Once the budget has been established it’s the responsibility of the designer to keep to it. All necessary quotes including the construction quotes are finalised at the completion of the design phase to ensure you have a clear picture of costs before proceeding.

Are there any hidden charges I should be aware of?

As part of the Divine renovation process, you will be provided with two quotes, one which reflects the cost for construction (labour and building materials), and then, upon selection of fixtures and fittings, you will receive a quote for your chosen products. There will be no surprise costs or hidden fees - all charges and fees will be reflected in our two initial quotes. Variations are only quoted for when you would want some extra work done or there are unforeseeable damages or delays on-site (termite damage, rotting timber, asbestos etc).

How long will the construction period be?

The typical time for a complete standard bathroom renovation is 3-4 weeks. However it really depends on the extent and type of renovation work to be done. If you are relocating walls/services or combining rooms it can take a little longer. Completing a high quality renovation adds lasting value to your property, but also takes time. To complete a project any faster means taking shortcuts and sacrificing quality, this is not the Divine way. You’ll find that at Divine, we run a very efficient project management schedule and stick by our projected start and finish dates.

Will I have to move out of my home during the construction period? It is up to you. If required, we can organise you an ensuite on site, which is a mobile bathroom that hooks up to your own water and sewer.

Will I have to clean up after construction is completed?

We tidy up each day at the end of the days’ work and we will remove all rubbish off of the site once the project is finished. If requested, we can organise a professional clean, at an extra cost, so that you can enjoy your beautiful new renovation.

Will I need council approval?

In some cases where there is structural movement or additions, council approval is necessary . We will handle all the necessary requirements and submit paperwork on your behalf so you don’t have to stress about that part.

What if my property is found to have asbestos?

By law, if asbestos is found upon testing, we are required to remove it in accordance with government compliance and safety standards. We have our own specialised licenced asbestos removalists who are very particular about removing asbestos in the safest manner.

Will a hot water tempering valve have to be installed?

If not already installed, In accordance with Council regulations, it is compulsory by law to have a hot water tempering valve installed for all plumbing work.

Why do I need a professional designer?

Your home is a very personal space, so any design must be well thought through, and the needs of all the users considered. Help from a professional designer will help avoiding annoying mistakes and missing clever ideas at the design stage. Time spent thinking about the project early on can save a huge amount of time money and tears later in the project. A renovation is a big investment and having a designer is essential if you want to avoid making expensive mistakes. It gives you more security knowing you have hired a professional to manage the finer details of your project whilst also making sure that your needs are met.
