This dynamic duo has a combined history of over 60 years in the gospel music genre. Both anointed men of God met in the early 80’s through their love and commitment to quartet singing. They were mentored by the late Frank Thomas who was affectionately known as “Mr. Boochie”. Their paths would cross regularly at local singing events and anniversaries in various churches from Louisiana to Texas. It was in the summer of 1988 that Bruce decided to form his own quartet group alongside Napoleon. Napoleon was a very humble and well-rounded singer who had been singing since the age of 12 heavily influenced by his father who was a well-known local singer as well. He was just the voice that was needed to complete the group. This union formed the group known as “The Concert Supremes”. Together they recorded several projects the first of which was in 1989 in Chicago Illinois produced by the late Major Roberson of the world-famous Pilgrim Jubilees. Their album entitled “Don’t Stop” put the group on many stages throughout the ArklaTex and Arkla Miss. This first project also confirmed the group’s ability to take original material and perform it in such a way that got the attention of all the local groups and fans throughout the south. The second project recorded by the Concert Supremes showcased a more mature group of singers but also highlighted a much more mature songwriter in Bruce. The album was originally titled “Going on With Jesus” but was later remastered and redistributed after the group signed a record deal with Melendo Records. The new title was “Feel the Spirit” which was the high- spirited fast paced drive song on the album. There were several songs on this project that became regional hits with some traction on the west coast. The group began touring with two other groups also on the Melendo label and were very well received by fans and highly respected by other artists in the gospel music industry. The songwriting focus for Bruce has always been to inspire and uplift listeners in a way that would take them from the day to day grind of life and present them with the possibility of a more abundant life as promised in the scriptures. To assist with that approach, all the songs were laced with powerful soulful groves, tempos and sincere, heartfelt lyrics.
After singing together for over 10 years the group members began going in different directions, Bruce relocated to Washington State and after over 14 years Bruce would once again relocate back to the south to reside in Houston, Texas which led to the reunion between he and Napoleon. The collaboration was also reignited, that reunion was the catalyst for the single “Going to Church” released in the summer of 2017. Going to church is a cross over tune with somewhat of an R & B vibe and a very catchy hook that has been called a good road or driving song. You can put that song on and somehow the drive ahead seems effortless because you get caught between the mix and vamp it’s just that solid and it makes you move.

When Napoleon and Bruce decided to work on a complete full-length album the one thing that they really wanted to make sure to do was to produce songs that could reach across all genres. They wanted to give their audience songs that would be easy to embrace with a very positive and distinct message of inspiration both of experience and possibility. That collaboration brought about their latest rendition “The Man I Am.” “The Man I Am” was released November 5th, 2018 and is available on all major digital platforms. It is a compilation of 9 songs set with music and lyrics that will touch the hearts and souls of men, women and children from all walks of life. There is a consistent message that flows through all the songs that believers and non-believers can relate to and it transcends across all genres of music. The well-produced work of art was recorded with the intent of bringing inspiration and encouragement to listeners. The hope and possibilities that are clearly on display will uplift anyone that listens. This project is a must for the music lover and the lovers of life and all its nuances. Napoleon and Bruce along with their band “DETERMINED.” In May of 2019 Napoleon and Bruce were invited to attend the “Objective Sessions” with Extreme Tours in Nashville Tennessee with artist like Michael W Smith, Supreme (from the hip hop group Wu Tang) and many other well-known industry professionals from the country, pop, gospel and hip-hop world. The sessions were a four-day takeover of Nashville from downtown on Broadway to Sound Kitchen studios in Franklin Tennessee. The experience from the Objective Sessions and the concept of the Extreme Tours fits well within the vision of Napoleon and Bruce’s musical journey. Their music is crafted to reach beyond genre, belief systems and cultural boundaries to resonate with people wherever they are at any given time. That has led to performances at festivals and outdoor events such as the Soul Food Festival in Baton Rouge Louisiana and The Juneteenth festival in Mansfield Louisiana. As their music reaches audiences far and wide they hope to work with event planners, festival organizers and promoters throughout the country.
