Children: Their Future, Our Focus

Dear Division 28 Key Clubbers, As of when I wrote this, there are only 67 days remaining until DCON 2016 begins. Although that may seem like a long time, it will go by very fast! In those two months, there will be registration, many club elections, divisional events, and so much more. Speaking of DCON, divisional t-shirts are available! Please remember that all DCON attendees are required to get a shirt, so if you’re attending and haven’t already, be sure to fill out the t-shirt form! You can find it in the same post as the t-shirt reveal on the Division 28 Facebook page. Lastly, congratulations to Peter Ch’en, the Lieutenant Governor-elect for the 2016-2017 term! Although it will be a while longer until he is inducted at DCON, please get to know him if you haven’t already! He will be in charge of supporting all ten clubs in our division and leading the division as a whole for the following year. In Love and Service, Adam Newton Lieutenant Governor of Division 28

In the midst of serene nature and fluctuating weather conditions lies the great Pacific Northwest District (PNW).The Pacific Northwest is geographically the largest district of Key Club International. The district spans from western Canada to northern California: with Alaska, Washington, Oregon, and the pan-handle of Idaho in between. The Pacific Northwest encompasses nearly 1.8 million square miles and includes over 300 clubs that operate under 45 divisions. Through rain or shine, snow or hail, Key Clubbers in the Pacific Northwest dedicate countless hours to their communities and internationally, and are always Proud 'N' Willing to serve!

UNICEF Since 1994, Key Club has been Trick-orTreating for UNICEF and over the years has raised nearly US$5 million for iodine deficiency programs worldwide and HIV and AIDS programs in Kenya and Swaziland. Now it’s helping the Eliminate Project.

MARCH OF DIMES For decades, Key Club has partnered with the March of Dimes to give every baby a healthy start. Key Club members raise thousands of dollars annually through various programs, including collecting change, holding dances, and taking part in March of Dimes’ signature event, March for Babies. CHILDREN’S MIRACLE NETWORK HOSPITALS Key Club participates with Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals by sponsoring fundraising events. Key Club members also participate in service projects at their local children’s hospital.

DIVISION 28 AT A GLANCE Division 28 serves the Bellevue, Issaquah, Mercer Island, and Snoqualmie areas. It contains 10 schools, including Mercer Island, Newport, Bellevue, Sammamish, Interlake, International, Issaquah, Skyline, Liberty, and Mount Si. Division 28 is one of the largest and most committed divisions in the district, and had the highest divisional attendance at DCON 2015.
