Dear
,
I am writing to you to advocate for bullying prevention in schools. Bullying affects many kids in a negative manner. It inhibits learning in a place where learning is the purpose. Bullying is wrong on many levels. It belittles a victims confidence, and in many cases, hinders their quality of life and their grades. Bullying commonly leads to severe depression or suicide. Furthermore, a bully is left with the notion that hurting others carries minimal consequences. It helps no one and burdens all. Most bullying happens in schools, an environment that is supposed to garner a love for education, not hinder it. There are many solutions and ways for schools to prevent this difficult issue. Schools could mandate annual classes that discourage such behavior, have clubs and programs such as a mediation club to help the students work out their problems and end the bullying. However, there is a much simpler solution--have all schools across America initiate a Zero Tolerance Policy . If any child is caught bullying another, the bully will be removed from school for a set amount of time based on the severity of the act. With these additions, schools across America will see a reduction in bullying. Don’t just take this information this letter to form the opinion that bullying is a preventable school problem. Go form and start these programs and see the difference they make.
Sincerely,
