To raise money for the Sage Creek Key Club, members got together at one of the local parks to paint. Following along with a Bob Ross tutorial, each person was able to create their own version of the painting. It was an enjoyable experience that allowed everyone to get to know each other and just have fun while helping to support our club.

On a bright summer day, Division 37 West Orcas gathered together by the beach for their June DCM. LTG Asia Chan went over several updates, such as NEMO-TC in July. Spirit Coordinator Jonah Gathright led several games such as a human knot and acting out movies. Later on, members had the opportunity to earn service hours by participating in a beach cleanup. Some interesting trash members found included a bicycle tire and decaying baby toys. Overall, this DCM was fun as always, and especially as we get into the school year, we’re looking forward to more DCM’s and meeting new members!

On a very warm day, Division 37 West Orcas and Division 37 East Jellies gathered together at Guajome Park Academy for the first training conference of the term: NEMO-TC! Surrounded by ocean-themed decorations and dressing appropriately as tacky tourists, Key Club members had the opportunity to learn more about Key Club while meeting their fellow Key Clubbers. Members attended several workshops learning more about officer positions, the levels of Key Club, how to fundraise, retaining membership, staying motivated, public speaking, and more! Furthermore, Key Clubbers played several icebreakers such as Soulmate and Key Club trivia. The Spirit Coordinators from both divisions held a game called “Find Me”, where members would have to find an object and bring it to the Spirit Coordinators (“Find me… a size 8 shoe!”). Overall, we were very glad to see a big attendance, full of newer members ready to learn more about the Key Club organization and hopefully introduce a very engaged Key Club division into the school year. See you all at Region Training Conference in the fall!
