LETTER FROM YOUR INCOMING LTG Hi, I’m Mackenzie Dotta, your incoming Lieutenant Governor. Here are a few things that make me who I am today. I’m a sympathetic person and very easy to talk to. I live by the moto “Don’t judge a book by its cover.” I am currently in Running Start at CBC and in my high school’s Drama club. I’m a Seattle Seahawks fan and love to read paranormal novels. Art is a passion of mine, along with animals and helping others. I have been invited to be a part of the Rodeo Royalty and always look forward to what the future holds for us. I’ve been the President and Vice President or the Burbank Key Cub. Since I was eight I have been helping alongside the Kiwanis, trying to better the community. As cheesy and cliché as it sounds, one of my favorite things to do on my free time is community projects with the Pasco Kiwanis or the Burbank Key Club. After participating in community service projects, I feel refreshed by all of the lives I know that, what may seem like a small deed has made an impact. My freshman year I helped charter the Burbank Key Club. I can honestly say that the Kiwanis family has definitely changed my life. Once instated, I want to make it a goal for ALL Key Clubs to become closer to their local Kiwanis Club. My goal is to have every Key Club member be assigned a Kiwanis member and have a personal connection with them. Whether you take your assigned Kiwanis member to coffee and listen to their life story or you take them to lunch. Our goal should be to become closer to the Kiwanis family. That’s how connections are made and futures are impacted. They are not the only ones changing lives, but we are changing theirs.

This month’s club spotlight is Kamiakin! Not only were they the first one’s to update the Kiwanis DCM presentation, but they also sent in their secretary report first! They’ve been very good with communicating this month, and have been very busy with service projects and fundraisers despite the winter weather!

NEW CLUB IN DIVISION 54 I’m very excited to announce that we have a new club in Division 54! Congratulations to College Place High School, they recently chartered a Key Club and they are looking forward to participating in service projects! With the addition of College Place, we now have 13 clubs in Division 54 and over 600 members! Can you name all the clubs? The first person to send me an email with the list of all 13 correct clubs will receive a special prize at the February DCM!

DCON IS JUST AROUND THE CORNER HEY KEY CLUBBERS, HOW DO YOU FEEL? DCON is March 31-April 2 in Portland this year. Check out the PNW District Key Clubber Facebook group for the official announcement and registration!

DCON SPIRIT GEAR & SHIRTS Attendees, DCON is only 7 weeks away!! Join the Remind group for updates on spirit gear and information during DCON (like where we’re seating during general session). To join, go to: https:// www.remind.com/join/duhler Shirts will soon be available for purchase for District Convention! It’s highly recommended that everyone attending DCON buys a shirt because it will be easier in locating everyone and you can show your pride during the spirit wars with spirit gear and a shirt! There will also be an order form for spirit gear, which will include beaded necklaces, temporary spirit tattoos, light up necklaces and more!

If you are not attending DCON but still would like a divisional shirt, please let me know!

FEBRUARY KIWANIS DCM Coming up this Wednesday, February 15th, we will be hosting and leading the Kiwanis DCM. All officers are encouraged to attend and share what your club has been up to, and all members are welcome! We will be making dinner, a baked potato bar with salad, so if everyone could arrive between 4:00-4:30 to help that would be awesome! Each club will be presenting about their clubs, so don’t forget to finish adding pictures and information to the Google presentation.

LOOKING FOR SERVICE PROJECTS? Check out dosomething.org! They host ongoing campaigns. One, Fight Fire with Cookies, is an event you could participate in with a group of friends or your
