Community Foundation Ashland County Community Foundation distributed a total of $264,525 in 2016-17 to 187 scholarship recipients from the Career Center, Hillsdale, Loudonville, Mapleton and Ashland high schools. Further, the organization approved 63 community, teacher, women’s fund and IMPACT Youth grants in 2016-17 for a total of $192,261. Since inception, more than $10.7 million has been returned to the Ashland County community via 391 donor-established funds. More than 6,600 donors have made current and deferred gifts totaling in excess of $40 million. Funds entrusted to Ashland County Community Foundation are invested to provide a stream of income and to provide for the longterm growth of principal and income without undue exposure to risk, while serving three distinct constituencies — individual donors, nonprofit organizations and the community-at-large. ACCF board and staff members participate in many community initiatives and planning strategies. Ashland County Community Foundation is a tax-exempt, not-forprofit corporation established in 1995 and chartered by the state as a public charity. The organization provides a means for people to make gifts of assets to enhance the quality of life in Ashland County. Goodwill Humphrey serves as the executive officer of the boards of health. She is responsible for enforcement of laws and regulations that are under the jurisdiction of the boards of health. She also is responsible for directing, administering and supervising all aspects of the public health programs, which include, but are not limited to, control of communicable diseases and environmental health services, and will coordinate all activities of services provided to the health districts. Ashland County Park District
Mission of the Ashland County Park District is to conserve natural areas of forest, woodland, farm and field for the enjoyment of people and to promote multiple natural uses for these areas, including hiking, walking, biking, hunting, fishing, bird-watching and other outdoor pursuits.
