It is the Chamber’s mission to promote member businesses and enhance the economic growth, and quality of life in the Garrettsville area. Whether you’re a business owner, or an area resident interested in making a difference in the community -- we encourage you to become a member of the Chamber of Commerce and join us in working together to build a strong and successful community that will allow the Garrettsville area to thrive.

One of the most important reasons to join chamber is to network and establish relationships with other businesses in the area. The Chamber office receives calls and emails daily from individuals seeking information about our community. While all local businesses are added to our internal referral database, we maintain an online yellow-pages style directory of chamber members available here on our website.

In addition to our referral services, the Chamber hosts a variety of popular events designed to get visitors and shoppers into town. These events include: five classic car shows held between May and September, a peach/ice-cream social, annual community-wide yard sale, biennial Business Showcase, holiday tree lighting, and annual Christmas on Main shopping promotion -which in 2016 generated over $900,000 in local sales dollars.

Welcome to Mantua!

The Mantua-Shalersville Area is in the heart of the Western Reserve. Quaint Mantua Village has a historic downtown with beautiful architecture and many businesses that run along State Route 44 and the various side streets. The village park is a busy hub of recreational activities including basketball, baseball and children enjoying the playground. The park also boasts a canoe launch. The Portage Hike and Bike trail, a treasure to our area runs through Mantua and Shalersville. Thee Townships are home to agricultural and sand & gravel businesses as well as residents that enjoy country living. The Mantua-Shalersville Area Chamber of Commerce is comprised of members who share a love for our community. We have a wide variety of businesses, ranging from local eateries, business support services, automotive services, industrial and manufacturing corporations. We are an active chamber, hosting a variety of networking and community enrichment events each year. Our networking activities include Business After Hours events, monthly business meetings, a Summer Luncheon and Holiday Social. Each year, we award two $750 scholarships to Crestwood seniors. We organize a Giving Tree Program which provides less fortunate children with a gift at the holidays. A popular summer event is the Community Wide Garage Sales. Businesses and residents have sales, drawing large crowds from all over Portage County looking for a great bargain. We strive to provide benefits to each of our members. In addition to our networking events, we also have an “Email Blast” program. Members can send out an email regarding their specials, or news of their business to our database of over 400 business and community individuals. Our website is also an effective marketing tool for our members. All members are listed on the Member Yellow Pages. Welcome to the City of Ravenna, the Community of Opportunity!

The City of Ravenna was founded in 1799 and developed in the 1800’s. It is currently the county seat with a population estimated at 11,556 people and home of the 150 ft flagpole built in 1839 and reconditioned in 2014.

Ravenna is unique in that the downtown still has that feel of nostalgic. Main Street, when Main Street was the place to be, with a blend of architecture, century homes, and modern housing and services.

Ravenna is conveniently located south of Interstate 80/Ohio Turnpike Exit 193 and North of Interstate 76 with State Route 59, 44, 14 and 88 passing through it making it very accessible to work and live.

Paris Industries completed a major expansion that has been on the books since 2014. The facility provides clean linen to hospitals, surgical centers and nursing homes in Ohio and Pennsylvania. The $7.1 million project expanded the capacity of their Ravenna facility 50%. The company will be adding 70 new jobs and retaining 200.

The City assisted with an Enterprise Zone Property Tax abatement.

Sirna & Sons is a family owned wholesale produce distributor which is expanding its market into western Pennsylvania. The $7.5 million project will add 54,000 square feet of temperature control space and office. The project will keep 175 employees and add an additional 45 over three years. The city helped with an enterprise zone property tax abatement and Neighborhood Development Services, Jobs Ohio, and the Portage County Port Authority along with Portage Community Bank helped on financing.

Raymond Harner of Harner Plumbing acquired the former GE Lamp Plant in 2016. He is in the process of converting it into a multi-tenet industrial/office complex.

He received some assistance thorough Jobs Ohio. The site will called the Chestnut Commerce Center. Ray has redevelopment another Ravenna industrial property, the former Evenflow/Domino Logistics complex, into multi-tenet facility with Johnson Matthey as an anchor tenet.

The Ravenna Area Chamber of Commerce is a very active partner of businesses and professional people committed to building a healthy business community and supporting residents to improve the Ravenna area as a whole.

Our focus is to maintain and develop the economic climate of our community now and in the future by supporting and promoting our local businesses.

We host several events throughout the year that are great networking opportunities for members to attend or participate in and are always open to new ideas and opportunities. We also assist businesses with organizing ribbon cuttings, before and after hours events, promoting their businesses and events through e-mail, facebook, twitter and on our website.

On behalf of the Board of Directors, I would like to welcome you to the City of Streetsboro and personally thank you for your interest in our community and Chamber.

Streetsboro is poised for new and exciting developments! Located between Cleveland, Akron, and Youngstown, our city has become the ideal place to build your business or to call your home.

The Chamber and the city of Streetsboro are both anticipating a great future and are focused on building upon the community’s already strong roots. With the support of our businesses, schools, residential communities, and visitors, we know we can achieve our goals.

To make the most of your membership, I strongly encourage you to get involved and participate in the activities of the Chamber. As with anything in life, the more you put into the Chamber, the more you will get out of it! There are many opportunities available. Join a committee that focuses on a topic that interests you, sponsor a Chamber event, come and network with other local professionals at our monthly events. I invite you to be an active part of our team and work side by side with business people who are as devoted to the area’s success as you are. I guarantee that you will find your efforts to be rewarding and even fun!

This year, the Streetsboro Area Chamber of Commerce has added an array of events to its already diverse program calendar. Unique, high quality lectures, networking luncheons, after hour socials, and special events such as our Business and Community Expo, Annual Golf Outing, Health Fair and Autumn on the Lake Gala are only a part of our offerings to the local community. I strongly encourage everyone to take advantage of all the upcoming events. As you may know, your membership in Streetsboro Area Chamber of Commerce also makes you a member of the NOACC at no extra cost.
