Interior design plan
The design of the single building is divided into two floors. The first floor is mainly for public activities, and the space is formed by the combination of open space and semi-open space. The master bedroom is on the ground floor. The second floor features bedrooms and a large open balcony.

In the process of architectural design, I first considered light and ventilation. Because it is an intensive housing, it is necessary to consider the most efficient design of land. In the previous page, I discussed four different combinations, some of which could provide more public space, such as corridors, gardens, etc. Others can build more houses in limited space. Either way, the basic lighting and ventilation requirements are guaranteed. Moreover, for each residence, more or less I have designed a special courtyard and balcony, which can provide people with a better life.

Scale relation between man and Bat Towers
The first step is finding the scale of human and bat combined, which gives the dimension of each corridor unit to be 8 ft tall and 6 ft wide.

Emergent Layer The Vertical Bat Habitat consists with three layers: The Vertical Corridor, the Skydeck, and the Bat Capsules. The Vertical Corridor serves for the visitors to travel vertically to the bats’ habitat; it could also serve as the shelter for bats. The Inner Core is where only visitors will occupy; it has four floors to fully emerge in the bat’s habitat.
Finished Building
The Bat Capsules are located on the end of branched-out Skydeck, which only bats will occupy, with the dimension of 8 ft by 6ft. The width of the Skydeck is just enough for the visitors to go through which to give visitors the feeling of invading bat’s habitat and being uncomfortable with the tight space.

Regender The Vertical Bat Habitat is designed to be flexible where it can be modified easily, which for Detroit, another tower is needed for winter for the bats, however, it will be enclosed, and a climate will be artificially controlled. The programs and the bats and human relationship hierarchy during daytime is different from that of the night time: Daytime is when the bats sleep and at its most vulnerable state, so the programs are mostly for benefiting the visitors to have different views of the zoo and observe closely at the giant bats without disturbing them. The Night Time program is the opposite, the bats will be the observer of the human visitors in the “enclosure� of the Skydeck.

Hangzhou is a developed city in south China. Its science and technology center in the west of the city is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for hangzhou to implement innovative development and high-level development. In this urban design, I designed an innovative science and technology center to meet the main cultural and entertainment needs of citizens in the west part of hangzhou.
