Well in my experience it just better to hang out and get around. Yes it's just that simple. My first trip big t o Dominical Costa Rica I remained at a conventional hotel which was OK. The actual accomodations were excellent and the price was just right. IN fact the man let me have the whole house for $35.double zero for one week. It was 1 block from the surf break as well as farther away from the pub. My spanish has been very limited at the time however I was sure I could find a better place to stay for alot less money compared to where I was keeping.

For the full home Yes! it is possible to rent a flat, sort of like a studio condominium for around $100.double zero a month. The better it is to the beach and tourist places usually the more costly it is. Most of the places that I have found tend to be close to public transportation.

Many people have asked me easily feel safe within Costa Rica. I feel less hazardous in Costa Rica compared to I feel in the USA. Definitely some places in c. R. are dangerous just like major cities in america. But over all if you utilize common sense in c. R. learn a little spanish you will do just fine.
