Go Karting in Saudi from Go-Karter Saad AlMunajem
February
The Riyadh Marathon features a range of races of varying distances, 42 km, 21 km, 10 km, and 4km races, catering to people of di erent abilities, including athletic and non-athletic contestants.
It will create a familyfriendly platform suitable for all community members to get t and active. Live entertainment, food and refreshments, will all be at the marathon village. Participants will also be able to make the most of several customized pre-marathon training programs. These programs will be scheduled and announced through the marathon website and its social media platforms.
We need to also keep in mind everyone who works backstage, with our incredible coaching and backroom staff that is led by Herve, which gives us a real sense of national pride.
“My day starts at around 5:45 am. I begin by stretching, lung stretches speci cally to make my lungs more exible, so I can last longer under deeper depths.
Then I head to the blue hole, and start stretching every single bit of muscle in my body to relax it completely. I like to take a corner and do something called imagery meditation and I just imagine every single little, small detail of my dive because when you imagine it, it feels like you’ve already done it.
It’s like playing with your subconscious almost. Then I head to my instructor who has everything set up, walk up to the bowie, and start taking my free diving breaths, then I do my dive, and feel happy that I did dive. And then almost the rest of the day is just very chill.”
“I work from 9 to 5. If I have a competition, I train twice a day. I wake up at 6 am, hit the gym, and then I go to work, and after that, I go to the gym again.
But on a regular basis, I train every day after work, and I’m watching my food as much as I can, and my sleep also because it plays an important role in recovery.”
REEM SAYS
WHAT DOES A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A RACE CAR DRIVER LOOK LIKE?
“I usually go to the track when the sun is about to set, I prepare my kart and make sure it’s ready to be driven, I check my Mychron battery, the engine’s battery, fuel, radiator, and the last thing I usually do is lube the chain.
When the kart is ready, I go down for sessions to compete with other drivers, even if it wasn’t an o cial race, this helps us overcome our fear of pushing to the limit, and over taking drivers ahead. Since you cannot a ord to make mistakes in an actual race, these practices allow us to make mistakes and learn from them.”
DUR SAYS
WHAT DOES A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A BASKETBALL PLAYER LOOK LIKE?
“My day starts with an 8 a.m. lecture in college, then I nish around 3 p.m. and go train mobility, stability, strength, and balance at Loca Studios for an hour, then I start working as an event planner in Loca Studios until 8 p.m. After that I head to the court at 8 p.m. to warm up and get ready for my training at 9 p.m.
We do individual skills, speed training, agility, and work on plans as a team. In training, we focus on creating chemistry between the teammates because that is key to a successful team. I then nish training around 11:30 p.m. and head home.”
RANA SAYS
WHAT DOES A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A WEIGHTLIFTER LOOK LIKE?
”I’m a full-time student. I’m a junior, cybersecurity student studying for my Bachelor’s degree. So I go to school from eight to four. Then I’ll hit the gym straight after uni, get my workout done.
It takes me about, two and a half, sometimes three hours. I go back home, I eat, I get some of my studies done, and sometimes when I feel like my joints or muscles are tight, I’d give it like half an hour, an hour to get myself all xed up and mobile, and prepare for the next day of training.” rana_ba1to
“I wake up around 5 am and start my day by drinking one liter of water to freshen up the body system. After that, I do my morning cardio session, normally it’s between 30-45 minutes. After that, I have breakfast, which usually consists of oats, eggs, toast, and peanut butter. Oh and for what it’s worth, never skip breakfast. It really is the most important meal of the day.
After that, I take a shower and get ready for work. I’m an engineer and work from 7 am - 4 pm, so I prepare a snack which is usually a banana or mixed berries with yogurt. Lunch is where I go heavy with rice or potatoes with a source of protein. Then there is the pre-workout meal which is usually cream of rice with a protein supplement and peanut butter.
After that by about 1-2 hours I have my weight lifting session and my second cardio session of 30-45 minutes on the Stairmaster. Then I have my post workout meal which is the same as my pre-workout meal. Finally, I have my dinner, which is the same as lunch but I add a bowl of salad to get in those bers, and that would be 1-2 hours before bed time.”
Take your time to learn. Don’t rush the process.
Have patience. You will not reach your goals overnight.
Read and make sure of the information you receive since there is a lot of wrong material online.
Dieting is key. Without it, you won’t reach your goals, and it is the hardest part, so don’t get frustrated if you can’t stick to it the rst time. It will take a while for you to change your habits.
Don’t get obsessed with the weighing scale. Sometimes it can be your worst enemy, so don’t get paranoid and check your weight every minute. Measure with your mirror and your clothes.

My recommendations for professional teams:
Riyadh: Skyline Racing at FunXtreme
Jeddah: Tony Kart at The Track
Sharqiyah: Go-karting team in Bahrain (Birel Art or Forza Bahrain
If you want to witness the drivers in action, you will have to wait till the track is announced and try to catch them along the way within the dunes of Hail.
They are usually the category with the highest number of participants in races and areconducted by a single driver taking the role of the navigator.
Another category in which the vehicles are driven by a driver taking the role of the navigator, they are highly modi ed to increase speed and have a better suspension system.
Highly modi ed road cars that are improved to sustain the conditions of the races. They are usually stripped apart with nothing remaining the same but the car body.
The trucks category is the most interesting of them all. These trucks are modi ed to go on very high speeds and are able to sustain some of the toughest terrains.
They are divided into two categories according to their weight. The T3, the (Lightweight prototype vehicles) and T4 (Lightweight series production).
THE DIFFERENT FORMS OF RALLIES:
THE WORLD RALLY CHAMPIONSHIP is the main rally competition and is considered the highest level of competition in the motorsport realm.
THE CROSS - COUNTRY BAJA RALLY consists of a season-long competition that spans di erent counties with some of the toughest terrains such as deserts, mountains, and icy tracks.
