The new subdivision is made to serve as a full service distributor of musical content, for artists and labels of all genres. Black Hole Distribution has a music management system, developed as part of the Black Hole Recordings’ website. The online distribution platform is already launched since May 25th 2014.
Black Hole Distribution Black Hole Recordings, founded in 1997, created Black Hole Distribution to meet the growing need for distribution services. By moving into the digital distribution business, the Dutch record company shows its ambition to be one of the key players in this field. Marcel Woods Stops Active DJ Career Successful DJ Marcel Woods from Eindhoven has announced his last DJ gig after a long and fruitful international DJ career. By taking this step he is the first of the ‘golden generation’ Dutch DJ’s who announces the end of his DJ career. Woods, who started DJ’ing in 1988, was an extremely popular DJ who played loads of main stages at events such as Mysteryland, Sensation, Trance Energy and MayDay, to name a few. Besides that, Woods is the man behind many mix compilations and high scoring single releases in the Dance charts. Pioneer Marcel Woods can look back at a very successful career. He is well known for his Trance Energy-anthem in 2006 and the remix for the Sensation anthem. In 2011 he also collaborated with Tiësto for the track ‘Don’t Ditch’. Through the years Woods released 13 albums and more than 30 singles. Putting together the Essential Mix for BBC1 radio, starting up his own record label Musical Madness and high rankings in the DJ Mag Top 100 are some of the many highlights of his career. 2-Dutch Agency With two young children and being the owner of a successful artist agency it is hard to maintain an international career. By running artist agency 2-Dutch he takes care of artists like Showtek, Jordy Dazz, Justin Prime and TV Noise. The careers of these guys are growing expeditious. Woods' decision to quit DJ’ing will automatically mean that there won’t be any new productions or releases under his name. In the meantime Marcel is working on a “classics minded” concept ‘Bring Back The Music’ which will lead to some rare gigs at special occasions. ‘Bring Back The Music’ will keep him close by what he loves most; his passion for music, without having to travel all around the world for gigs all the time.

COSMIC GATE START TO FEEL ‘Start To Feel’s story couldn’t begin in a finer place than ‘Happyness’. Cooler on tempo, higher on life, its sun-dipped pianos and rhapsodic melodies fuse feel-great atmosphere into the album’s overture. Through its female vocal troupe, the LP’s vision begins to broaden. Founded on faithfully syncopated 80s electro drum patterns & FX, Jaren cuts it soul-deep with 'Try’, whilst ‘Be Your Sound’ heroine Emma Hewitt returns with the torch-song triumph of ‘Going Home’. Further in, ‘Shine Forever’ and ‘The Sparks After The Sunset’ (co-starring Alexander Popov & Jannika and Sarah Lynn respectively) radiate their spirited uplift.

An all-powerful atmosphere generator, ‘Yai’ dark charts the outer-reaches of progressive instrumentalism... then voyages further still. Likewise building more dissident characteristics into ‘S.T.F.’ is the Jerome Isma-Ae co-production ‘Telefunken’, which pans, echoes and tremors its square-form sonica, finally introducing a Kraftwerk-ian lead-line. Skilfully flipping the frequency dial, Kristina Antuna supplies mainline spark to ‘Alone’ – a track whose supremely catchy lyrics and song will be all over the world’s airwaves come summertime.
Game’ and the aural superstructure of KhoMha co-pro ‘Tormenta’. ‘S.T.F.’s gravities are brought into acuter focus through music like ‘No One Can Touch You Now’ and the album’s title track ‘Start To Feel’. All but erasing the line between deep trance & house, they bring never-previously-heard sounds and styles to Cosmic Gate’s production creed. Respectively, Mike Schmid and ‘WYM’ returnee Cary Brothers supply their vocal expression to tracks whose lyrical narratives play in the mind for days.
Naturally, no Cosmic Gate LP would be complete without a substantial bedrock of arena-razing atomics! Tracks like ‘So Get Up’ and ‘Crushed’ (exclusive to its iTunes release) have already given peak-time a heads-up of what’s incoming. Nic & Bossi reap further thunderous instrumental havoc through the complexly programmed fire & brimstone synthesis of Orjan Nilsen collab ‘Fair
Making two appearances over its runtime, LA’s Eric Lumiere brings vocal elevation to “anthem-in-a-can” (DJ Mag) ‘Falling Back’ and a more deeply held pathos to ‘Run Away’. Heralding the album’s coda, early Nic Chagall singer/songwriter discovery Jonathan Mendelsohn brings an expressive, moving vocal magnetism to its iTunes exclusive swansong ‘All My Life’.

“What we would like to get across through ‘Start To Feel”, says Nic Chagall “is that electronic music doesn’t need to always start and stop at the drop. It doesn’t have to be all about that 60 seconds. We love that type of music. If we didn’t we wouldn’t have made tracks like ‘So Get Up’ and a dozen others. But those are start points to Cosmic Gate’s music. Not end ones.
“Our overall aim is the long game”, expands Bossi. “In the studio we want to create tracks with real life expectancy. We want to make ‘yearsfrom-now’ music, where every time you come back to a track, you hear something new, something different, something more than you caught the last time. There are so many more moments and elements with which you can start to feel a track. We want to encourage people to experience electronic music in a deeper, wider, more complete way”.

Your perfect Festival planner We recently had the chance to sit down with Scotty Moore, the founder and CEO of FestPop, a brand new platform that has positioned itself as the easiest way to prepare and plan a Music Festivals travel journey around the world. Their mission is simple: To empower music fans to easily discover new music festivals, book travel & tickets as well as buy music festival essentials like backpacks, sunscreen, water bottles, camping gear,etc..
They found that they can dramatically reduce the research process by creating a one-stop site with all the right information and engaging content.
Are you European and planning to attend EDC in Vegas? American and thinking of rocking Tomorrowland in Belgium? We can all relate to the planning process of going to a specific festival for the first time. We don't know the city, where to stay, or what to expect at the festival. What if there was a one-stop site that could give you a true and objective rundown of what to anticipate?
"There are thousands of music festivals around the world; no matter how big or small, we are here to bridge the gap."
Scotty, a true festival aficionado, came up with the idea while planning for Lollapalloza 2012. On September 2013, the site was ready for launch after a year of arduous work. It has now received an astonishing 15 million visits worldwide. The initiative has an all-star team behind it: Yale graduate Mike Schwab as CTO and talented Drew Allen as SVP of Design.
FestPop was born with innovation and simplicity in mind. It aims to engage in promoting information for festivals of all kinds: Camping music festivals like Euphoria, EDM boat festivals a-la-Holy Ship, big outdoor country music celebrations like the Bayou Superfest,
The goal is to make every festival searchable, and they are already on their way. Take a look at their featured section. Functionality and tech play a big part on the website. It recently launched the capability for the creation of festival profile pages, and through social interaction, they plan to become the firstever music festival recommendation service.
For fans, FestPop will function as their one-stop festival planning site. For festival organizers on the other hand, FestPop represents the perfect partner to help showcase the experience they are Festival fans have spoken, he states. "Through offering. So what are you waiting for? Summer research we've been able to pinpoint the main is basically here! Let FestPop be your ally this reasons why people decide to attend a festival: festival season. Headliners, the festival theme, and host city."

INTERVIEW DJNEWSMAGAZINE
Music is second nature to The Prophet. He’s been a driving force in the electronic music scene for 25 years. And now, the wait is over for his fans. It’s finally here, after all these years: the debut album of the true pioneer of the harder styles. Containing the perfect mixture of his favorite styles such as melodic, old school, hardcore and more, ‘LOUDER’ embodies The Prophet’s musical journey in 20 tracks. Hey Dov, nice to speak to you, how are you doing? Where are you reading this interview? Hello there! Nice to meet you too, thanks, I'm doing great! It’s Holy Friday today, so everybody is free today and I'm answering this interview from home. Your brand new album called “LOUDER” is out. We can hear all inspirations across your musical career. How has been the concept of this new album and also why directly releasing a complete album? This is my first album ever, the crown on my career. Actually, it was about time to create an album. My love of Hardstyle is very big as you already know, all kinds of Hardstyle. On LOUDER, you can hear what I like best from reversed bass, to euphoric, to almost hardcore. That is what I am, that is what I crave! We are going to put you on the spot, now! Can you name 2 or 3 tracks from the album that you feel will most represent the overall sound? (Also give a brief description for each if you want). Thanks! Always nice! Hahahaha! But ok, here we go: Hoo-ey: Which means "nonsense" is the reversed bass track which will be played by the reversed bass/old school Hardstyle lovers. Make Me Stay: Track with Noisecontrollers and the famous Dutch singer "Leonie Meijer.” This track is the typical Euphoric Hardstyle, together with the One Moment Remix from Bass Modulators and Conquer The World with Audiotricz, one of the most played tracks on the album. LOUDER: This is the typical "Rawstyle" sound. It’s already a hit and played by really ALL the DJ's who have heard it. ‘LOUDER,’ is the only word that represents who The Prophet really is? You are one of the few artists with a pure passion and love for Hardstyle actually. Naaaahhh.. LOUDER is what I like, what I am, what I breathe. Hardstyle music really must have the LOUDER ingredients to give me that specific feeling! I'm sure many of the other artists in the Hardstyle scene have the same passion.

DJNEWSMAGAZINE INTERVIEW
Some people are saying already it’s about to be the ‘hardstyle’ album of the year... It's just April now, but H3Y! I don't blame them. How about your influences outside of electronic music? It all started back then for me, even before the introduction of synthesizers and so on. I listened to Elvis Presley, Queen, Bob Marley, UB40, The Police, U2 and so on. OH, and I still do! Are you not scared about this « pressure » that many producers have more and more coming from the industry? Nope, not at all. Everybody has pressure, whether you work in a bank or as a policeman, or in a hospital, so the answer is no. What should be your biggest musical accomplishment when you look back in the past till now? That would be my LOUDER album, it really feels like the birth of my first born baby. Proud father and willing to raise until she is grown up, so i can let go. What’s been your most embarrassing moment on stage? It's always nice when the music stops while you play, especially when you do it yourself! Whahahahaha! Are you a fan of social media, do you think it's massively important now? Yeah, I love it! As an artist you come so much more in touch with your fans, and it is actually THE most important way of advertising, socializing, etc. What piece of equipment could you not live without (not necessarily DJ equipment)? Uhhhh, MacBook Pro Retina. That’s my life at the moment. Everyone’s got a hidden talent. What’s yours? Actually, it's not hidden anymore, photography. Loooove to do that! It let's you escape from the rest of the day. What keeps you up till late? Amnesia. Your favorite application this year ? Camera + app (iPhone) and creating some new and fresh music again! We're reaching the end of this interview; do you have a message to your fans? Stay true to your heart and listen to that!

DJNEWSMAGAZINE FESTIVAL
Balaton Sound (between 2007 and 2012 also known as Heineken Balaton Sound, since 2013 as MasterCard Balaton Sound for sponsorship reasons) is one of Europe's largest open air electronic music festivals. Held annually since 2007 on the southern bank of Lake Balaton, Hungary, it features live acts and DJ's from all around the world, from established artists to new names. The event was co-created by the organizers of Sziget Festival. Background: As the festival gets more famous and popular each year, tickets are usually sold out before they go on sale at the official ticket vendors; this event sets new attendance records yearly. The first Balaton Sound festival was held between 12 July and 15 July 2007. The fact that the event was held on the shore of the largest lake in Central Europe in mid-summer, its twenty-hour music schedule, and the line-up gained it significant public interest. The festival is located on the west part of Zamรกrdi at the crossing of Panorรกma and Zรถldfa utca (street). Inside the festival area variable stages, lounges, and
tents are established for the performances. The sponsors of the festival create luxurious chill-out facilities with hammocks, bean bags, easy chairs. Visitors to Balaton Sound can stay at a special camp site with several pubs, cocktail bars and restaurants equipped with accoutrements absent from Hungary's other summer music festivals. The Main Stage area has a capacity of about 50,000. According to a KPMG study over the 4 days of the event in 2008, 88,000 attendants visited the festival while the daily average reached 22,000. Over 1.6 billion HUF was spent by visitors in total, 41,000 HUF per person, mostly spent on entrance fee, food and accommodation. In 2009, the number of festival visitors reached 94,000. Later, in 2012 the festival came out second largest music festival in Hungary (after the Sziget Festival), and one of the most populated electronic music festival in Europe. The 2012 festival won the European Festivals Award in the category Best Medium-Sized European Festival in early 2013.

For the story, A Statue in nightlife 1989 In the Antwerp red light district prostitutes, pimps and potential customers suspiciously follow the opening of Café d'Anvers. In the past, on the very same location a cinema, a church, a dance hall with a track for dodgem cars and a warehouse opened... and closed again. The new club chose an "anything goes" policy: the crazier, the better. Who wanted to get inside, had to meet the severe selection criteria at the entrance. Once inside, no limits. The club made its name quickly. From everywhere youngsters came down to see for themselves how a 16th century old church suddenly became the epicenter of snazziness - or how top-dj's would fight for a night behind the decks @ Café d'Anvers. Turbulent times featuring drag queens, extravagant personalities and remarkable characters. What was never the intention, eventually happened: Café d'Anvers became a trendsetter. At the moment, Café d'Anvers is one of the few monuments kept in nightlife, which will never have to be protected bacause it preserves itself. Still on top of the game, with performances and dj-sets from the best dj's and producers in the world.

Above & Beyond ft. Alex Vargas Sticky Fingers A dark, forward-thinking vocal track that is stamped with Above & Beyond’s renowned musicality, “Sticky Fingers” is an emotive ride through a relationship’s disintegration and the psychological hold that inevitably remains even after its end. The track is brilliantly embodied by the recently released music video by Kenlon Clark, which draws its own influence from Alfred Hitchcock’s Vertigo. Following on from their club anthem ”Hello” earlier this year, ”Sticky Fingers” is the band’s first electronic release with the arresting male vocalist Alex Vargas, who has quickly become an Above & Beyond staple since their Acoustic project last year.

Tiësto Feat. Kirsty Hawkshaw Just Be (Sephano & Torio Remix) Tiesto’s original will go down as one of THE benchmark records for the decade it was released in. Coming at a time before the ‘EDM boom‘ – there were few that managed to bring the true zest of electronic dance music to the global stage – but if there is one name that towers above all – it’s Tiesto. The album – used as the foundations for his 2004 performance at the Athens Olympics is widely seen as a breakthrough for dance music in a time that such sized appearances were more than rare. Before the international explosion of EDM, this kind of platform was untested and the global dance music world and all of the DJs and Producers involved could only dream of the audiences that Tiesto was able to captivate.

Bakermat One Day (Vandaag) - (Amine Edge & DANCE Remix) The remix sees this dynamic duo retaining the summer vibes of the original whilst adding their own unique slant that soups it up perfectly for the club. They manage to deftly juxtapose the uplifting melody and sax in Bakermat’s original creation with their own heavy bass, offbeat percussion and scattering of hi-hats. Amine Edge & DANCE are truly hot property at the moment. With constant sell-out gigs and their own weekly residency just recently announced at Sankeys Ibiza, this summer was already looking pivotal for them, and there’s no question about it: this is the real game changer. The original track is redolent of summer festival fields, whilst the remix brings you into the dark depths of the club.
