McSweeny Farms residents are a close drive to the region’s most popular museums, including the Southern California Railway Museum, which explores the celebrated history of California’s railway system. The museum, located at 2201 S. A Street in Perris, is more than 100 acres and home to an expansive collection of retro locomotives, railcars, trains, trolleys and more.
Locomotive enthusiasts can experience the past first-hand with a ride on the museum’s operating trolley or behind a train every weekend. Tickets are unlimited and are available in the museum gift store.

Nearby is the March Field Air Museum, another historical gem in Riverside. Aircraft fanatics can take a stroll back in time while walking through a World War I trench line beneath the SR-71 Blackbird, the world’s fastest manned aircraft, or step through a Vietnam-era Fire Base surrounded by a series of helicopters.
Visitors of all ages can view more than 30,000 artifacts, including flight gear, simulators, authentic uniforms, original photos and personal letters. Experience 80 aircrafts located in the museum’s indoor hangar or along the outdoor flightline, with guided tours available aboard an electric tram.
