VISIT DIAMOND VALLEY LAKE & MARINA
Spend This Summer On The Water At Diamond Valley Lake & Marina
— By Whitney Maher
You can’t live in the Inland Empire without visiting Diamond Valley Lake and Marina – a.k.a. the “Home of Monster-Sized Fish.”
Diamond Valley Lake, celebrated for its top-tier fishing experiences, is one of the largest man-made reservoirs in Southern California. The marina offers fishing, boating and hiking opportunities unlike anywhere else.
Take to the water for the ultimate fishing adventure, with opportunities to catch a variety of fish species throughout the year. Diamond Valley Lake is best known for its world-renowned black bass fishing experiences, but is also home to rainbow trout, striper, blue and channel catfish and panfish. Fishing access permits are $9 per day and $6 for children, 12 years old and younger. Bass boats and other fishing boats are also available for rent by the hour, half-day or full-day, starting at $35 per hour. For those who do not want to fish, deluxe and uncovered pontoon boats are also available for rent, starting at $70 per hour.
Bring your camera to capture panoramic views of the lake and the marina’s surrounding hillsides that have become known for stunning wildflower blooms each spring. Hike or bike the variety of trails with views of the water and natural vegetation, including the Wildflower trail featuring native flowers and raptor sightings. Trails are open Wednesday through Sunday from 6:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Trail entrance fees are available for $4 per person.
Diamond Valley Lake is located at 2615 Angler Ave. in Hemet. For more information, visit www.dvmarina.com or call 951-926-7201.
