BRINGS ITALIAN SOPHISTICATION TO UNIFORM THE WORLD’S MOST DESIRABLE RESORTS
— By Dani Reeves
There is a new energy when you walk into casinos lately; the type of energy you know that you’ll have a great night. Everyone around you is ravishing. Not only is everyone you’re with dressed impeccably, but the staff too. From valet to the cocktail servers as you walk to the restaurant. People everywhere notice the difference. Upon arriving at the restaurant, the hostess greets you with style and sophistication. At this point, it’s unsurprising when the server comes embellished without missing any detail. And then it hits you, the tailoring, the fabrication, the style must be Catherine Trifiletti.
The Italian luxury uniform designer has been taking over the Las Vegas Strip. “I believe Vegas resort employees should be the most fashion-forward in the world,” she says. With over 39 years of experience in design, her signature couture style can be found throughout 5-star hotels, day clubs, and even theme parks.
Trifiletti started her career as a fashion illustrator, where she worked for some of the best design houses in Philadelphia and New York City. When she was teaching as an adjunct professor at Philadelphia University, she discovered her calling in uniforms. “I was asked to design the Pennsylvania State Police formal shirt. My design included spandex; I was the first to use spandex in their uniforms! Can you believe police uniforms didn’t have mobility in their garment before?”
After years of working with luxury brands worldwide, Trifiletti started her own label and became known as the only International uniform stylist in the United States.
Moving to Las Vegas changed the game for Trifiletti. “I love luxury and glamour. I think I’m in the right place here in Vegas, “ she says confidently. Because of her strong background in style and fashion, Trifiletti’s eye for divine taste begins when she walks inside a property. “The minute I step inside any resort, restaurant, day or night club, I start thinking about creating a common thread throughout the entire space. A good designer must listen and understand their needs and create a cohesive collection that works with their employees, lasts a long time, and looks great after three years,” Trifiletti states.
Trifiletti is not only a powerhouse in uniform design but is also committed to helping women achieve their goals through fashion. A woman-owned business and a mother of three daughters, Trifiletti works closely with multiple non-profits to bring awareness in hopes of equality in the workplace. Hosting the first Luxury Hospitality Runway Show in Dubai last year was one of Trifiletti’s most fulfilling achievements as a designer. “The event was held on International Womens Day, which was extra special. It was a beautiful way to celebrate women from all around the world,” she says. Plans for the second annual runway show are at full speed and will be in Las Vegas. “I’ll be showcasing my newest collection, and you can expect all things glamour because women deserve to be fabulous, and there is no better place to celebrate that than in Las Vegas!”
