My Name is "Day-na" NOT "DONNA"
My CULTURE and country is St. John’s Antigua. The most powerful memory of color tradition is our anual summer festival, Carnival. My family still embraces the traditions by participating in the anual festivals. I have chosen Rochor, Singapore to learn about their culture and how they use color because it seems like an interesting place to anaylize due to their cultural diversity. I have not been to Singapore but I would love to visit at some point in my life.

RED| RED
The color red throughout the film was associated with aggression as well as romance. Contrast of Hue A contrast of hue is determined by the position of the hue on the color wheel. The further away they are from each other the higher the contrast of hue. In this example, contrast of hue is portrayed through the use of different colored merchandise layered infront of the neutral wall.
Contrast of Value A contrast of value is the lightiness or darkness of a color. In this example, contrast of value is seen through the neutral color palette.
A monochrome of nutral hues are used from light to dark to create contrast. The walls are painted with a bright off-white color and it is accentuated with a neutral limestone tile. In contrast, the ceiling and the display cases are a dark hue. In addition, the staircase creates shadows which give the feeling of a contrast in value.
Contrast of Design Feature A contrast of design feature draws emphasis to specific design elements. In this example, the facade of the building is an important design feature. The store was inspired by an Italian Opera house and the facade mimics the design pattern of a curtain in an opera house. Contrast and emphasis is depicted through the distorted image created by the layered view of the glass facade and the interior.
Contrast of Texture
A contrast of texture is created by using opposing elements such as smooth vs rough surfaces. In this example, contrast of texture is seen through the use of the rough limestone and smooth, polished surfaces such as the floor.
Focal Point A focal point is the center or interest of activity. It’s usual considered the “eye capturing” element. The focal point in this example is the column that is seen as soon as you enter the store. It contains elements of contrast through texture and hues. It also has a layered feeling that captures your attention.
