THE NEW VIKING 64
THE VIKING 64 CONVERTIBLE is set to premiere at the 2021 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show in October. “We never stop-it’s that simple,” said President and CEO of Viking Yachts, Pat Healey, in a press release. “Every new model is an improvement from the last one because we’re a design-and engineering-driven company. We have the best team in the business, and this is what we do–design and build incredible boats.”
DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION
The Viking 64 has an unbroken s-shaped sheer flow from bow to stern and a sweptback black-masked windshield with a pronounced hull and deckhouse feature lines with distinctive hull-side vents giving it the unmistakable Viking profile. The hull is built with an engineered composit of fiberglass fabiris and a core that is vacuum-infused with vinylester resin. The design brings strength while minimizing weight. The structural bulkheads and fuel tanks are a;sp resin infused and the hull-todeck is through-bolted every three inches and fiberglassed from the inside for a rocksolid union.
SALON AND GALLEY
The new design features an electric-powered salon door that reveals an open floor layout plan with a walkway that extends from the salon to the forepeak. The interior features horizontal natural walnut throughout and is available in hi-gloss or a stain finish. The interior features a 50-inch pop-up high-definition television and an L-shaped lounge with storage underneath. There is a dinette on a raised platform that can comfortably seat four adults, the dinette faces the galley which has walnut cabinetry, custom Amtico flooring and engineered stone counters. There is an undercounter sub-zero refrigerator, a four-burner cooktop, and a microwave oven included as the galley’s standard amenities.

COCKPIT
The cockpit is 180 square feet and is equipped with Flush rod holders; fresh and raw water wash down systems; transom fi sh box with live well, rounded coamings with indirect rope lighting below; side lockers for tag stick and gaff storage; quick disconnect fi tting for oil changes for the engines, transmissions and generator; port and starboard in deck insulated fi sh and storage boxes and optional in-deck live well; and stereo speakers.
FLYBRIDGE
The fl ybridge of the Viking 64 has an abundance of seating and storage space, the helm is equipped with Bocatech switching, recessed radio boxes withsplit lids, a custom helm pod with single-lever electroniccontrols, stainless steel steering wheel, trim tabswitches and electronic trolling valves. In addition to the helm there are two companion pedestal chairs, lounge seating with storage below, and a third two-person lounge with fold-down armrests and a freezer beneath it. The fl ybridge also has a sink and refrigerated drink box.
OVERNIGHT ACCOMMODATIONS
There are four staterooms that feature premium carpeting, air conditioning, and LED lighting. The companionway hosts a washer and dryer that are stored away behind a walnut door when not in use. The master and forward staterooms each feature queen-sized walk around berths, high-defi nition televisions, and ensuite bathroom. There is a crossover beth arrangement available in the forward cabin. To starboard there is a spacious midship master with his-and-hers maple-lined hanging lockers, a credenza, end tables on each side of the bed, and a high-defi nition television. The ford guest statureroom also provides locker storage space, cabinet space, and a Bomar foredeck hatch. The guest state room has side-by-side bunks while the crew room has upper and lower bunks, they both offer hanging lockers, speakers recessed in the headline, and indirect rope lighting.
ELECTRICAL AND MECHANICAL
The Viking 64 will also be available as an Enclosed Bridge model that will include a forward control station. Twin MAN V12 1550CRM (1550 MHP) diesels serve as the standard power, with several options ranging from twin 1900 MHP to 2025 MHP powerplants. Hull No. 1 of the 64 Convertible will be powered with a pair of MTU Series 12V 2000 M96X (2002MHP) engine.
