EXPERIENCE ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN MANAGER | THE NASSAL COMPANY | ORLANDO, FL | 2016-PRESENT
As the architectural design manager for a large theming firm, I work closely with the design team to teach and uphold design convention and drawing standards. As a part of this responsibility, I have created and implemented several practices and protocols for drawing submission and management, as well as procedures to ensure clear communication between design and project teams. I have also been tasked with implementing BIM within the design workflow to ensure accuracy in design and consistent logistical management of our products. In addition to these responsibilities, I also oversee the design of large projects, the most recent of which has an estimated budget of 20 million dollars. ADJUNCT PROFESSOR OF ARCHITECTURE | UNIVERSITY OF CENTRAL FLORIDA | ORLANDO, FL | 2016-PRESENT
As a practicing professional in the field of architecture, I enjoy teaching students of architecture. In addition to the requirements of theoretical lecturing, and preparing design exercises and projects for my class, I also use teaching as an opportunity to prepare young designers for practical application in the field from the perspective of a young professional who recently finished my studies as well. I feel teaching in this way helps young designers better bridge the gap between the theoretical and practical, and it also allows me to stay involved with the ever-evolving and experimental approach to design, common at the university level. ARCHITECTURAL ASSOCIATE | NOLA VAN PEURSEM ARCHITECTS | HUNTSVILLE, AL | 2015-2016
As a project manager for a medium sized architectural firm, I worked with our design lead to design and develop a 23 million dollar public project. During this time I was responsible for design and program development, code research, coordination between our engineering teams, construction document development, and final bid document development. As a leader of the design team, I used BIM coordination to develop all documents and manage all coordination. Along with our engineers and a two person team, we were able to develop our documents on time with a below budget bid. ARCHITECTURAL ASSOCIATE | CHAPMAN SISSON ARCHITECTS | HUNTSVILLE, AL | 2014-2015
As a temporary associate for a medium sized architectural firm, I worked with two teams specializing in education. As a member of these teams I was tasked with assisting on the drafting of construction documents, code research, energy research, and the development and refinement of certain design aspects for a 60 million dollar high school project, and a 60 million dollar university project. I worked closely with the firm’s design lead and with several area experts in waterproofing, and construction details. ARCHITECTURAL ASSOCIATE | GUY BUTLER ARCHITECT | ORLANDO, FL | 2012-2014
As an associate for a medium sized architectural firm specializing in hospitality, I was tasked with drafting in Autocad and Revit, managing construction documents, project coordination, and concept development and implementation. I was also responsible for researching building codes and product vendor coordination.
