Happy KimEveryone knows that family is very important part of anyone’s life. Some people are distant and some are very close to their families. Just by knowing that you have someone who cares can be enough in any hard situations your life can give you. It is like a castle that protects and supports you regardless of circumstances. To have a family that loves you is a privilege and I was lucky enough to have this family in South Korea while traveling there, I have met people who made me feel welcomed and loved. All that time while working on different assignments I had a home to come back to and there is nothing more a traveling photographer far away from home needs than a safe place where he can take his every day happy mask off and be accepted for who he is, especially in a foreign country. That warmth and happiness that this family has shared with me will be cherished and remembered forever. The day before the photo shoot I saw how everyone was exited, getting ready, choosing outfits, asking me what looks better and how we should dress up to match the idea. I was so happy that I got this incredible opportunity to repay for all that good they shared with me. The shoot was a success and the happiness and unity we all experienced during was endless. I managed to bring all family together and create a day where they felt most special and beautiful without any masks attached. The raw emotions that we shared on the set are beyond words. And I felt blessed to meet this incredible family, be a part of it and capture the raw beauty of it. 56
