A mother during those nine months care for the baby and will think best for her child’s health. She takes all the precautions so that her child is born healthy. The most dreading thing for a mother can be that her child after birth has been swapped with another child. Recently, the events of child swapping have increased extensively and such news has alarmed more parents after the child is born. DNA has become a reliable source for parents to be relieved from the cases of child swapping. Thus, a maternity test is important to be performed. A maternity DNA test can be done by taking the DNA sample of the presumptive child and of the presumptive mother and then comparing the two. Usually cheek swabs are taken of the mother and of the child as DNA sample for comparison. If the DNA sample of the mother and child match then it gives a sense of relief to the mother. In case, the DNA of the mother and child doesn’t match then it will be an eye-opener for the parents to know that this is not their own child. In the case of child swapping, the mother can approach for legal help. In case of a legal situation, a maternity test can be performed only by visiting a DNA Test Centre for ChildSwapping where a trained person will collect your samples and will do complete paperwork.
