Corrosion Monitoring

Decisions regarding a structure’s integrity depend entirely on an accurate assessment of the conditions affecting its corrosion and rate of deterioration. DNV’s expert staff can help you make informed decisions about the type, cost and urgency of remedial measures, which will lead to selection of longer life materials, durable and protective coatings, and corrosion control measures through cathodic protection or water treatment.

Our professional staff utilizes proven, comprehensive strategies to identify the locations and causes of internal corrosion. •

Engineering and Technical Support DNV provides technical support and guidance for your internal corrosion programs. This support includes data analysis, field investigations and mitigation strategies, such as water removal and biocide and inhibitor treatments. Our experts also assist in development of specific internal corrosion control plans, which are used to manage program strategies, analytical results and operational parameters. Internal Corrosion Procedure Development

DNV provides thorough and accurate internal corrosion threat assessments through the use of many assessment tools such as pipeline pigging, Internal Corrosion Decision Tree (ICDT), Internal Corrosion Direct Assessment (ICDA) and the Internal Threat Calculator (ITC).

Effective procedures require structure, strategic objectives, and a consistent approach. Our engineers work together with your staff to ensure operating, maintenance and ICDA procedures are prepared in a manner that is useful to your specific facility. Our staff reviews current testing and data management procedures then conducts a high-level rollout presentation to engineering and operations management.

ICDA Program Support DNV played a leading role in the development of ICDA and provides renowned experts in this area. We assist clients in all stages of ICDA program implementation. After assessing the existing system operations, our engineers and experts collect relevant data, provide analysis, determine where corrosive fluids may accumulate and identify areas that are conducive to IC. • • • • •
