progeCAD USA (Clackamas, OR) has released an “an important update” to its general-purpose, AutoCAD-like 2D and 3D design application, progeCAD 2010 Professional. The progeCAD 2010 Professional version 10.0.10.8 update is said to offer several key user-requested fixes as well as a number of enhancements. The update to this low-cost application is free to licensed progeCAD 2010 users.
progeCAD USA describes the fixes as “crucial for those using progeCAD to perform designs creating DWG drawings daily.” Fixes range across those for end users to those for developers and from improved performance to the ability to edit drawings using Dynamic Blocks. End user enhancements include improved visualization when printing gradient hatches and better performance when layouts have hidden or shaded viewports. Isolated crashes caused by certain entity displays and by Trim/Extend commands have been fixed. Most of the improvements, according to the company, should eliminate “rare” instances where progeCAD may become unstable and shut down without warning. (The entire list of fixes and improvements can be accessed from the link below.)

The progeCAD 2010 Professional update also offers users a new Beta of the LispDefender technology. This technology allows developers to protect their intellectual property rights when including AutoLISP source code in their add-on products for progeCAD. Additionally, a Proxy capability for both the automatic version update notifications and installations has been added as well as a Proxy ability in the registration process.
