Tips To Palletize Your Shipment

Pallets are one of the portable rigid platforms that are used to combine shipments and allow for easy shipping. Often the pallets are made of wood or plastic, and it weighs between 20 and 70 lbs. The Denver pallets you choose must be large enough to accommodate the shipment without any overhang. If anything overhangs along the pallet edges, they are subjected to impact which can lead to abrasions, punctures, and compression damage. You need to follow few basic instructions for palletizing your goods for UPS Worldwide Express Freight, LTL shipments and Air Freight. Selecting the Right Pallet  You need to choose the pallets in Denver that are large enough to accommodate the load.  The pallets should be durable to support heavy loads  Choose the one with closely spaced pallet deck boards  Don’t exceed the rated capacity of the pallet  Avoid choosing the pallets with protruding nail heads or broken boards  Prefer buying pallets with four-way forklift entry to reduce damage and improve handling during the shipment

Stack the Boxes on the Pallet If the shipment contains boxes or stackable pieces, then you need to follow the below mentioned instructions. 

Make sure that the cartons are new and have proper strength to withstand stacking

You need to close, staple or seal the cartons properly to secure the stacks.

With proper amounts of dunnage within the cartons, you need to protect the product from internal vibration.

Avoid leaving spaces or void area between the product or on top of the carton

You need to affix proper labels containing complete address information to each piece for the shipper and the consignee.

For the greatest stacking strength, you need to align all the boxes in columns, corner to corner.

You need to avoid rotating or interlocking layer patterns

You should not align corners over the spaces between pallet deck boards

Make sure that the boxes does not extend past the pallet edges

You need to avoid arranging the boxes in the pyramid shape

You should keep the top layer flat to prevent damage from top loads

To protect the bottom layer and distribute the weight evenly, it is better to use a slip sheet under the load and every third layer when possible.

Secure Shipment to Pallet To secure the shipment to the pallet, you can use the strapping or banding. You can also stretch wrap to prevent pieces separated from the load or from getting lost. Label the Shipment You need to label the pallets with a complete address including the postal code of the consignee and the shipper. Also, mention the telephone number. Many companies offer pallets for sale in Denver, and so you need to choose the one that is highly durable and suits your shipping needs.
