The Argo-naught 2010 Weld Gas Analyser accurately monitors oxygen levels while fabricators use inert gas to purge stainless steel, titanium and other reactive metal pipework and vessels before and during welding. The Argo-naught 2010 Weld Gas Analyser allows continuous measurements of the oxygen content in the vicinity of the weld down to 0.1% (1000 ppm).

Correct use of the Weld Gas Analyser allows customers to determine when the safe level for welding has been reached, thus eliminating any guess work. It helps save on argon gas consumption, since some welders might purge much longer than is actually required by playing it safe. Therefore, the use of the Weld Gas Analyser helps lower the customer’s carbon footprint and will increase the welder’s production rate. It also helps to save on argon gas and enables fabricators to maintain or quicken work schedules that can increase profitability

The Argo-naught 2010 Weld Gas Analyser should be continually used during welding to monitor the weld purge levels. It will quickly identify any oxygen level drawn into the pipe volume that is being shielded with inert gas. Typically, customers choosing to purge pipes with gaps between the pipe end bevels, will tape up the gap prior to welding when they purge. If the gas flow is too low, argon will escape from the purge allowing atmosphere and oxygen through the weld gap once fabricators begin to remove the tape. The Argo-naught 2010 Weld Gas Analyser will save the weld root by showing the fabricator if the levels rise to an unacceptable level.

OPERATION OF THE ARGO-NAUGHT 2010 WELD GAS ANALYSER
w
The small size and battery operation of the Argo-naught 2010 Weld Gas Analyser makes it easily portable and ideal for monitoring oxygen levels for welding on-site. It is supplied with a stainless steel probe, a 2 metre rubber tube, a rubber vacuum bulb, operating instructions and calibration and test certificates. The rubber tube of the Argo-naught 2010 Weld Gas Analyser can be connected directly to the weld purge system or purge dam through the exhaust port of the purging device. Alternatively, the stainless steel probe can be inserted through the weld gap or the exhaust of the weld purging system. Once the Argo-naught 2010 Weld Gas Analyser is in place, the rubber bulb is activated to transport a sample of the atmosphere in the vicinity of the weld to the sensor of the instrument. The sensor accurately measures the oxygen content of the sample and displays the oxygen level on the easily readable LCD display. Welding can begin as soon as satisfactory oxygen levels are reached. Weldwide Solutions Limited recommends the use of inflatable pipe purging dams and Silicone disc purging systems when customers are welding schedule pipework and all other kinds of cylindrical vessels. These products compliment the Argo-naught 2010 Weld Gas Analyser and, used together, they will help to eliminate all oxidised weld roots in stainless steel and other exotics.
