Why we’re different from other online Pet artists‌
1. Quality is the key to our success. Quality of materials used (canvas and oils) and artistic ability. Why this matters: If you were an architect or builder you would want to build a house on a solid and strong foundation, otherwise the effects could be dire. The same goes with art. A canvas is the foundation of your painting and you need it to have certain qualities if you're looking to commission a top portrait of your dog. A lot of cheaper portrait companies use flimsy nylon canvases. The reason being of course is that they're extremely cheap to buy so companies/artists make a bigger profit. They may be easy on the pocket but it's not so great for the painting. It's important that
the canvas for your dog portrait has strength and stability since over time many factors can challenge your oil painting (for example humidity, change in temperature, re-stretching) and a flimsy canvas just won't cut it. These poor quality canvases are also loosely woven and the fabric can easily distort when stretched, which in turn will ruin the painting. Here at Dog Artists we use a heavy grade duck cotton canvas because of its strength, stability and durability. Our duck cotton canvases, which your dog portraits will be lovingly hand painted on will feel reassuringly heavy and provide excellent support due to the way the threads criss-cross each other in the canvas you'll find that they provide an excellent foundation for your painting.
Oil Paints Here at Dog Artists our artists only use Winsor & Newton oils because they’re the best. Winsor & Newton were granted its first Royal Warrant by Queen Victoria in 1841, their oils are unmatched for purity and quality. They’re the best, that’s why we use them to paint your dog’s portrait.

After having a look at your photos that you 3) Honesty want your dog portrait based on, if the artist does not feel that he can paint your dog’s portrait to the high standard that we all demand, (usually due to poor quality photos where details can not be seen properly), your dog artist will always let you know. We will only accept your commission if our artists are 100% confident that they can do justice to the photo provided.
