The ‘Mini’ Pup Cup Dog Grooming Competition was held on the 4 and 5 June 2022 at Dogs Queensland.

The event was put together in haste when a plea for a Queensland dog grooming competition was requested by northern groomers.

Jazz Fitzgerald, the event coordinator from Coffs Harbour, NSW along with many wonderful sponsors gifted a ‘mini’ event which, in spite of the name, delivered 86 competitors across the weekend. The Pup Cup enticed groomers to travel from as far as Melbourne, Canberra and Cairns.

The Pup Cup was created to bring pet industry related companies, professional pet groomers and dog show exhibitors together to network, showcase a range of expertise and award placings in a positive and relaxed environment.

From mixed breeds, purebreds and fake dogs, the skills on show dazzled our wonderful judge, Naomi Conroy.

Congratulations to all who attended and

• Monique Finch was awarded BEST IN SHOW with a stunning Kerry Blue Terrier breed trim.

• Kathy Mankey was awarded RUNNER UP BEST IN SHOW with a gorgeous West Highland Terrier breed trim.

• Jessica Chard was awarded BEST ALL ROUND GROOMER and Molly Lambourn was awarded BEGINNER BEST IN SHOW.

Thank you to all who made this event a success from the grounds and canteen staff at Dogs QLD, our stall holders, Jolene Turnbull (our welcoming steward) and Sponsors: DGS Imports, James Bennett Grooming Academy, Plush Puppy, Ashley Craig Grooming Australia, Pink Paws Pet Ties, Groomer Nation, Petway Petcare, Mousehole Grooming Scissors, Call Sharpening, Medicpet Australia, Gubba’s Dog Dens, Secret Weapon Australia and VonHound & Friends.
